Honestly, it is a bit of a mixed bag here. We arrived and immediately thought what have we got ourselves into, there weren't really any other short term stayers, the main part of the park was full of long term residents - it was a caravan park with a lot of old caravans and residents who were kind of staring. Billed as a family friendly campground, seeing long term residents vaping, the smell of cigarette smoke, and the playground full of poisonous mushrooms very dangerous for young children was not a great start.nnThe grounds are lovely and this could be a fantastic campground. Kitchen facilities are also very good, and the bathroom is adequate, although outdated and worse than most other campgrounds around this price. Also, the hosts were great and very approachable. On our second night there were a few more tourists in the park and the mood changed a bit as it was great chatting to everyone. Also spent time chatting with some of the long term residents who were very friendly and our impressions of the place definitely improved throughout our stay.nnSome TLC, improvements to the bathrooms and TV room and making the place smokefree and vapefree would make a big difference - especially if it is being advertised as a family friendly place. Also perhaps saying on the website that there are lots of long term residents would be nice. All in all though, we enjoyed our time and the kids had a great time. Would we stay there again? Maybe in the heart of summer when the large campground is open and there are more families around but in general, probably not.
We stayed at Glenmark Holiday Park for two nights and thought it was absolutely fantastic! We were very impressed with how clean and well-maintained the park and accommodation were. Everything is so thoughtfully put together it’s clear that a lot of care and pride has gone into keeping the place in top condition. The owner was delightful and very helpful. The rooms were clean but had thin walls and in dire need of a make over. While the bathroom was clean it too was a few decades past it's needed spruce up. Some of the caravans lived in by the permanent residents looked dodgy
April & Ian manage a fantastic campground/holiday park!nFriendly welcoming family atmosphere, with kids zipping around utilizing the swimming pool, playground and lounge/tv room. Clean and easy-access kitchen and bathroom/shower block.nGreat location on the outskirts of town, only a few minutes drive away.nMet some wonderful fellow guests who had been returning for years, due to the friendly management and easy-going atmosphere.nHighly recommend
We love it here. Last year we stayed in a cabin, this year we had a non powered tent site. Had all the space in the world. Facilities were great and well maintained. My children loved the pool in daylight and the tv room after dark where they socialised and played games with other families.nStaff were amazing and great to talk too
