Story

Go-Kan-Ryu Karate (GKR) is a traditional Japanese style of karate. GKR was founded by Robert Sullivan in Adelaide, South Australia. Robert first began training in the art of karate in 1964, and spent time training and teaching in both Japan and the USA before establishing GKR in 1984.

GKR Karate is taught in a non-contact environment and promotes both character and physical development. GKR is a club for all ages and promotes self-defence, fitness, coordination, discipline, confidence and stress relief.

People of all walks of life can train together and learn the art of karate in a safe, fun and encouraging environment.

This school committed a serious breach of a legally binding parenting order.  The incident occurred on 03 April 2024 and has significantly impacted my child's well-being and my parental rights.  The existing parenting order clearly states that my time with my daughter, begins as soon as her school day ends, regardless of the specific time. On 03 April 2024, school staff were informed that I would be collecting my daughter yet she was released into the care of her mother, directly violating the established order. This action has caused unnecessary confusion for my daughter and has undermined my parental authority.  I have faced consistent breaches of the parenting order since February 05, 2023, and have sought legal recourse. This, in conjunction with the recent events at the school, has caused emotional distress and negatively impacted my daughter.  Pakuranga Heights Primary School staff exceeded their authority and jeopardized the legal mandates of the parenting order. Their actions have contributed to the ongoing mental stress experienced by my daughter.  I am deeply concerned by the potential impact this incident may have on her well-being, within a context where family court matters significantly contribute to New Zealand's concerning suicide statistics.  I have contacted the police regarding this incident and also the ministry of education.  Do better.

Honestly people make up fake reviews good and bad. But my review will contain my honest opinions about this school and why you should or shouldn't go to Pakuranga heights school.  The teachers have really unique personalitys, i find it funny when i was back at that school. Strict teacher and a meh teacher. All teachers have their ways but you must respect each and every one.  The students are really random but overall they're perfect  Umm i don't really have that much time but i must be going...my overall ratings of this school is 4.1 that's it bye now

yeah no lmao- its just the people. the staff was kinda mean and scary but some were okay? I never really had friends there. maybe it could've changed but Idk cause its been ages.

Today while I was bringing my child to pukeko which is inside the Pak heights school, I had the most unpleasant moment to hear that a teacher was screaming loud to a child that he is "useless". And not only once but twice with very loud voice. This thing really terrified me how she can do this to a child. What kind of education is she providing?! UNBELIEVABLE!!! lucky I don't bring my kids to this school tjough. This is not the first time I see a bad behaviour from a teacher to a child :-

Fantastic teachers, lovely staff, cheap uniforms, just wonderful treatment of students and parents. Highly recommended.
