This place is massive and great for all those who buy in bulk or does food business! Everything you need is here, and staff are helpful too.nnIt has a new lay out which is better than before and you can easily navigate around the store too. It is now open for public just make an account with them!nnWell, some items i find cheaper at paknsave though, remember to shop/search around first to get the best price. Otherwise, i highly recommend for you to try buying here!

Purchased Brinks chicken on special today 10 March 2025 at Gilmours Manukau and initially got two boxes one of drumsticks and one of nibbles. There were plenty of mixed boxes on special in the freezer. However, at checkout, the box of nibbles was taken away because the Gilmours staff had entered the wrong barcodes/boxes. This was frustrating, as other reputable companies, under consumer legislation, would honour the price as marked—this felt like deceptive practice! That said, in hindsight, I’m glad they took it away.nnThe customer before me had taken a few of these mixed boxes at another checkout, which we pointed out to the checkout attendant, but it fell on deaf ears.nnWhen I took the remaining box of drumsticks home—within 10 minutes of purchase—and opened the blue bag, a foul stench immediately filled the entire room. The meat had already started decomposing due to bacterial activity. I phoned Gilmours Manukau to express my concern and urge them to remove the other boxes for health and safety reasons, as this could clearly cause illness. While purchasing, a few people had already commented that the boxes smelled terrible—I was a fool to put my trust in Gilmours Manukau and buy it anyway.nnThe person on the phone instructed me to store the rotten meat in a cooler at home—seriously? They wanted me to risk contaminating the food already in my freezer? Instead, I immediately drove back, battling traffic, to get a refund. My whole car now smells like something died in it.nnI received a refund and an apology, but no assurance that the other boxes would be removed or even a replacement offered. I genuinely feel sorry for those who bought the meat before me, especially if they live further away.nnI have lost all confidence in the Manukau store. I'd rather shop at the Mt Roskill branch—never had an issue there, and their customer service is far better. They don’t sell spoiled meat, nor do they disadvantage customers by taking away an item due to their own staff’s mistake. Gilmours Manukau definitely needs better management!

I have been buying chicken from Mankao Gilmore for 3 years but the chicken from your place is sometimes very smelly. I have complained many times but there was no significant effect. ⁠
