Gibbo’s Fresh Fish is a great place. The fish is fresh and really tasty. I tried some kinas and they were delicious. The servings are big, and the staff are friendly. A good spot for a fish and chips meal.
This shop is the 2nd shop situated in the Kopeopeo center. Staff were pleasant and a well maintained shop. Lots of fish and seafood on display. Had a steady flow of customers flowing in. It is one of the few takeaways in town that doesn't have a food menu for specific pricing specials.nWent to the Heads and tried my meal, which was very tasty and fresh.
The $10 fish bites and chips was yum!! Very generous with the portion size and eat for $10.nThe fish bites are delicious and big in size.nThe pāua fritter was bang on!
Question for the general population: How can I nominate Gibbo’s for The Best Raw Fish Salad in NZ????? It seriously is! Focus is on the big chunks of fresh fish, light on veggies, coco cream and everything else. This is the way to do it!!
Heard great things about Gibbo's so went there to get a fish meal. Slightly underwhelming service and Fishermans basket served on a tray with paper was rather greasy. Hardly the basket I was expecting. I had higher expectations for a casual sit down meal. Staff seemed more interested in joking with each other than serving customers. Meals got mixed up between customers.
