Funky Duck

A passing stop from Hawke's Bay to New Plymouth. Plenty of ducks following you and especially around the cafe. Easy to find, typical cabinet food and great coffee. Sit outside in the sun under an umbrella and enjoy the view, and ducks at your side! Great place to check out on a journey.

My big breakfast was small for $28. My wifes burger was cheaper and looked bigger than mine.

Our go-to family spot when we're in Whanganui, the coffee is always excellent, perfect after a long drive. Staff are always chipper and helpful, love seeing owners having an active hand in the day to day operation! Food is a bit hit and miss, but generally well presented and good options available. Interior is a bit dated, furniture could do with some maintenancehard to find an outdoor chair that wasn't messed, for a location next to a lake it may be worth switching to plastic furniture. Overall would reccomend.

Took teenagers for breakfast treat! Big breakfast not worth $28 very basic. Eggs Beni..way touch much hollandaise and balsamic. Waffles dry. Certainly would look elsewhere for breakfast

Food and coffee very good, however I'd made a reservation for a certain table but the boss had not reserved it when we arrived so staff said take any table which we did. Just finishing off lunch and boss came over and asked us to finish up as there was a booking for that table . Told our table we reserved had not been reserved, he carried on walking away. Only when we were leaving did he apologize. Not the best of customer service by him. Other staff members were great though. Five stars for for staff.
