Fraser Park Sportsville

About

Vision: Sports Growing and Succeeding
Mission: Be a Partnership of Sports for the Community

Story

Sportsville Hutt City is a partnership project led by Hutt City Council and supported by SPARC, Sport Wellington, NZ Community Trust & Pelorus Trust. The purpose of the Sportsville project is to create sports communities that make it easier for clubs to attract new members, offer new programmes and control operational costs by pooling resources.

The focus is on collaboration, not amalgamation. Each club still retains its history and identity, now within a strong and supportive network. There are several sportsville projects proposed for different regions around New Zealand.

Fraser Park Sportsville was launched in September 2009. The Fraser Park Sportsville founding clubs signed the Sportsville constitution in April 2010, signaling their commitment to the partnership. In June 2010 an independent Board was appointed to lead the new entity and in May 2011 the strategy was finalised and Manager, Trudy Englebretsen, was appointed.

The consultation phase for the redevelopment of Fraser Park closed in May 2013. The Boards of Fraser Park Sportsville and the Community Facilities Trust have secured capital funding for stage 1 and are about to finalise the revenue generation strategy for stage 2.

This page provides updates and information about the redevelopment of Fraser Park.

Great venue, would be nice to have some more shelter. But do appreciate the stands.
Had my kids end of year assembly here and my first time here as well. Beautiful place and well laid out too and spacious . Very helpful staff as well letting us in and advising me of a lift to get upstairs after seeing me with my double pram so i was very pleased.
Fantastic modern multisport facility
Nice place and great environment. Plenty of options for food. Great view of the on site sports and has good coverage of Tv sports with Sky Sport playing most the time. Great service from the gentleman who served me. The food isn't cheap per-say however good quality. If I could it would be 3 and a half stars
Lots of space to play hockey, cricket and other fields games. Will maintained and clean.
Very nice. I went here for a memorial and the facilities are definitely great. Helpful, friendly staff another great bonus.
Turf amazing. Looks like the council is really taking care of things here. The grounds near the sport centre seem in really good nick.
Great indoor sporting facility which includes and indoor space with cricket nets and squash courts. Meeting rooms, cafè, bar and restaurant on-site also.
A nice modern facility that is home to at least a dozen clubs. But it is a bland interior with floor to ceiling beige colour palate. Apart from minimal signage, you wouldn't know the clubs involved unless you are playing them. There is certainly no club culture or atmosphere, but the facilities is first class. Catering and bar are fantastic, and the staff are brilliant. Overall the multi sports venue is a great start, but work need to be done on getting a sense of club community spirit rather than corporate sterility.
Nice venue for sports, great for watching rugby as has indoor/ outdoor spots to watch
