Frankton Arm Tavern

About

Frankton Arm Tavern is where the locals eat, drink & play with a great atmosphere, amazing lake & mountain views.

Story

The Frankton Arm Tavern is located on Yewlett Crescent, right on beautiful Lake Wakatipu. We have the biggest beer garden in Queenstown, as well as the most panoramic views. With a wide range of beers, wines, and spirits, you’d be hard done by to find a better place to relax. Open from 11am every day, we also serve up one of the best feeds you’re likely to find, with a full menu, daily specials, plus plenty of nibbles and snacks to choose from. Pokie room, TAB, pool table, dart board, and courtesy coach for drop offs (from 6pm). Happy hour Monday to Friday (with complimentary nibbles for Friday Happy Hour), and all kinds of special drink deals. We also cater special functions—everything from outdoor BBQ’s to platters and pizzas. So come see where the locals hang out, have a yarn with your host, Michelle, or your chef, Mike, grab a jug of Speights, and let us spoil you rotten and make you feel like you’re at home. The locals know where to go for a good time, and that’s here, at the F.A.T.

Don't let the modern industrial design from the outside fool you, as the inside is surprisingly cosy and welcoming. A house red cost $12. There is a separate gaming room, and TAB machines and all the horse racing TVs are present in the bar area, but thankfully, music is played over the top of this. There is a nice courtyard outside, and of course, the views across the mountains are breathtaking.
Called in for a pub lunch and was extremely happy. Inside or outside seating Good bar service Large meals and tasty TV screens and a good atmosphere Not forgetting the good views were you can sit down with laptop and catch up on emails or browse and relax A good find and a small carpark on premisesFood: 5/5
Best pub in Queenstown. Food was exceptional. 8 of us all agree, Best pub food in NZ . We'll done. We come here each trip and we will be back. They even have PALS on tap. Casual attire , tab outdoor fire dog friendly. Can't go wrong and views across the lake .Food: 5/5
Great food and range of drinks in a proper local style pub. Steak was good and the margarita pizza really good too, I had fries with the pizza which I didn’t really need as the pizza was enough in itself. The staff were all really nice and friendly and there was good music playing while we were there. The views over the lake were lovely too.
The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, with a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The tavern's rustic decor and warm lighting create a comfortable and inviting setting, perfect for unwinding after a long day or enjoying a night out with friends. The staff at Frankton Arm Tavern truly stand out. They are incredibly friendly, attentive, and go out of their way to ensure that every guest has a fantastic time. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and provided with excellent service throughout my visit. Their knowledge of the menu and drink selections added a personal touch that enhanced the overall experience. The food and drinks were top-notch, offering a great selection of pub classics and local favourites. Whether you're a local or just passing through Queenstown, Frankton Arm Tavern is a must-visit spot. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and an unbeatable atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and vibe, amazing views, service was friendly and timely but unfortunately the steak was very underwhelming. I got the sirloin steak & asked for medium-rare but it was definitely more on the rare side. The mushroom sauce definitely saved the dish but I was disappointed with how little of the sauce they gave, didn't even fill up half the little sauce cup. Don't think I would go back here.
Food was terrible, I ordered a chicken burger and what came out was very disappointing. The chips were warm at best. The piece of chicken was about a third of the size of the bun and was about 5 millimetres thick. This place has gone down hill massively. The food used to be awesome and now it’s awful.Food: 1/5
Beautiful tavern, warm and cosy, great customer service and atmosphere - we went for dinner. Big fire outside with tables, no seafood chowder but the meat platter was good value!!Food: 4/5
Great atmosphere and definitely a very cool local pub. If you advertise a free shuttle you should provide it. Also if happy hour says 4.30-5.30pm everyday it should be everyday not just weekdays.Food: 4/5
One of the few genuine classic kiwi pubs left. Outstanding. Draught beer/cider, big bots and great food options. Awesome outdoor area with views of Frankton Arm in the sun. Inside theres more space, dart boards and TV's for most sports.
