Formaggio's Restaurant & Pizzeria

Booked a table for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. Good atmosphere. The staff gave us a lovely round table and were very attentive. They even put candles in the birthday girl’s dessert and gathered around to sing happy birthday, which she loved. Food was excellent and seemed very authentic. Gnocchi was mouthwatering. Would definitely recommend

Delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Delighted to see an entire plant based menu, great drinks menu and support of native forest restoration. Keep up the great work, Team! Lots of other restaurants would do well to take notes and let Formaggio's show them how it's really done! Vegetarian options: Fabulous range of vegetarian and vegan options. We often struggle to find a restaurant with good meat- and dairy-free options, we now know where to go! Thanks for providing a fabulous service team!

Great atmosphere,popular and busy but friendly welcoming staff. Had a chat with the Italian owner who was very open and friendly. Food was delicious and great value. Really tasty. We had the house pizza bread for starters, Gnocchi and spaghetti for mains -the food was so good forgot to take a picture until halfway through the spaghetti and nearly finished the gnocchi. Finished with raspberry, coconut and chocolate gelato Super tasty Highly recommend this place, just don't book all the tables when we go back pls

What an absolutely awesome time we had at Formaggio's. We decided to come here to celebrate my wife's 50th bday whilst on holiday in Christchurch. Plus the family was truly craving Italian. Well Formaggio's did not disappoint. We booked ahead which I encourage you to do. We arrived about 5 minutes ahead of our booking and were greeted with a smile, given menus and quickly offered cold still water. Bella, who was lovely, came and quickly took our drink orders and assisted with choosing the right wine while offering tasting of our choices. We made our decisions and she took our food order. We didn't wait long before our food came out piping hot and fresh. We ordered: spaghetti bolognese, gnocchi, lasagna, cannelloni. We ordered some garlic bread a bottle of Collesecco Italian Red Wine with our meals. I worked with Paige who pulled off a seamless suprise of Tiramisu to celebrate my wife's birthday. Overall an excellent experience. Food, drink, tastes, all TOP NOTCH. If you are looking to celebrate and event or just crave some Italian cuisine, come see Bella & Paige and make a booking ahead of time You and all of your guests will not be disappointed!! Mamma mia! What a delightful dining experience. The pizze and pasti were cooked to perfection. My gnocci verde dish was bright green. It had light potato consistency tossed in with cheesy, creamy sauce. Deliciozo! Apparently the cannelloni was great too. Will come back with another group of friends for sure.

Ordered a takeaway by phone of a funghi pizza and tiramisu. Both delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a nice vibe with more options on the dine-in menu. Dietary restrictions: Plant-based and gluten free options available

I highly do not recommend this restaurant, mainly if you have kids, I felt very discriminated with my little one there. My two years old boy had his food and he was walking in the restaurant, I was with him all the time, the manager came to me and ask me to keep him seated. Probably she doesn’t have kids to now how it works. I didn’t like that she approached me in this way, there are a lot of ways to say the same thing. Also the food is not worthy, not a proper Italian restaurant, pasta doesn’t taste fresh and the sauce taste like the ones from supermarket

Great place for Italian food. This is going to become one of our regular places for date night. The staff were so friendly and the food was so authentic. Appears to be a regular birthday restaurant as the staff and entire restaurant sung happy birthday twice the night we went. Loved it.Food: 5/5
