Der Egmont-Nationalpark liegt im Westen der Nordinsel von Neuseeland etwa auf halbem Weg von Wellington nach Auckland. Der Park wurde 1900 unter Schutz gestellt und ist damit der zweitälteste Nationalpark in Neuseeland. Er ist 33.543 Hektar groß und er wird vom Department of Conservation verwaltet.

Walked in a short distance from the enf of Mangorei Road. Great.
very nice view from the mountain. we was there to hike to the top. but the weather changed and its was not possible to did that. but i will come back to hike it. ;
Great huts and the tracks which we did were in amazing condition without being highways. Such a diverse array of ecosystems in the park too.
If you can find a day without cloud then the views are amazing, shortly worth climbing a few steps. Lots of different tracks to suit all people.
