Great location right on the waterfront, came here for lunch and didn’t have to wait long before being seated. Wait staff are very lovely, able to give great recommendations. We tried the natural shucked oysters, chowder and fish n chips. All were delicious and highly recommended! Loved the decor and the place is so well maintained
An excellent dining experience for dinner. Our reservation put us on the edge overlooking the harbour in really comfy seats and we were served by an excellent server who was experienced. She made the night great.nThe Seafood Platter for two looked like the right choice - $109 well spent. Throw in the bottle of Pinot Gris and we were delighted. The speed of service was outstanding.nI recommend you book and ask nicely for a seat of your choice!
Dropped in for lunch. Governor burger was huge and tasty. However the big fat patty was bleeding as I ate. Personally I like my meat well cooked not leaking onto my plate. Also, the chips were hot but old n hard.nFair dues tho, they were prepping for a private function but still gotta work to hold onto any rep's.
Came here for dinner as many had said it was a must for our visit to the Bay of Islands. The service was welcoming and kind. It was a quiet day and dinner on the patio with a view of the bay was absolutely lovely. My husband loved his catch of the day snapper, and his oysters. I found the fry bread a little dense for my liking - they also ended up serving it with my meal instead of as an appetizer. Overall, the 4 of us enjoyed our meal - but it was the setting that really made for the experience. We ended up skipping dessert, as the choice was between dessert, and waiting an extra hour for the next ferry back to Paihia and we decided we wanted to catch the earlier ferry. But overall, a positive dining experience.
The restaurant is super big with plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings, spreading out to several sections, all with stunning views towards the waterfront. What an amazing spot for meals in Russell you won’t missed. We enjoyed the dinner and came back again the next day for lunch. The lunch and dinner menus both have an awesome selection. The services are friendly and professional. Recommended.
