Stayed here on Thursday during an one-week get away from Auckland. Friendly service at the reception. Room was tidy and smelt nice. Staff at the restaurant were lovely and attentive-enjoyed the Hāngī Cabbage and Green Goddess Salad. Will definitely stay here again when I am in Russell next time. Thanks team.
An awesome afternoon/morning.nDinner was terrific then a quick dip next morning and lovely fresh shower at Long Beach then coffee cart on the spot before breakfast back at the Duke of Marlborough before carrying on with our local touristing experience.nIt is extremely exciting to see how many people are here doing the same and how many over seas young ones are working here. Definitely a win win situation for all!
Beautiful location overlooking the water, and the decor and ambiance is excellent - only matched by the fantastic wait staff. But, the star of the show was the food and drinks!! We had the burger and fish and chips, and it really was top notch!!! They even brew a beer exclusively for the pub, and it is super delicious. Well worth a try!
The boat trip over to Russell is the best way to stay a lunch on the front deck of The Duke. My first time at this iconic venue. Firstly, the staff are BRILLIANT and the food was truly delicious. We shared most of the starters and everything was fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced for the quality. Treat your self. You deserve it.
Stayed here in the past and just called in for dinner on a golf trip. Still a great location and one of the few historical places in the country where get the feel of the early settlers. A tourist spot for sure but if you havent been there, you should. The meals and service are great and try Charlotte's Kitchen at Paihia - same family and similar meals without the ferry cost. With an afternoon sea breeze rolling in, this place is sheltered and looking into the Western sky is very pleasant as the sun departs. There is usually plenty of action around the place to keep you entertained. Service is very strong and like any place, only as good as the waiting staff who are committed to or not.
