Story

There's nowhere in Russell quite like Arcadia Lodge. This turn of the 20th century house and luxury B&B is a Russell landmark, sitting in a magnificent position looking out over tranquil Matauwhi Bay.

Accommodation is in three spacious suites with private decks and magnificent views of the bay while upstairs are a charming queen room with water views and a super-king room. One of the suites has two bedrooms, making it suitable for a couple, two friends or up to four people traveling together.

The house is furnished in a relaxed blend of the traditional and contemporary with English and American Arts and Crafts furniture on 100 year old, honey-coloured kauri floorboards.

Start your day on the deck with our generous, healthy breakfast: Kerikeri orange juice and Northland fruit, home made muesli, organic yoghurt, our own jams and preserves, organic coffee and teas, followed by a delicious café-style cooked special. Then head out to explore Russell's charming heritage village and the amazing Bay of Islands beyond.
