This cafe has a rustic look on the inside and outside. It has the best coffee in town. The owner is very accommodative to vegetarian food requests. We came in at 11 and ordered one meal from the breakfast menu and one from the lunch menu because I missed the burger!! and they agreed!!! nnThe boy behind the cashier is very nice and patient. Although he is young, he is a professional service provider. He was able to serve the customers concurrently and clean up the tables. A very capable boy!! He would be able to do big in future!
Quirky bohemian 1950s style decor. Bare floors and brightly painted brick walls. Great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. There are good choices of food in the glass cases too.nI enjoyed the croissant with cheese, bacon, salad, and the roasted vegetable salad. Moccha was great also.
A funky, quirky cafe with a good selection of creative tasty food. I had the meat lovers breakfast - and it was delicious - bacon cooked to perfection, poached eggs nice and runny as I requested, plus nicely cooked meat, patties and black pudding - served pretty quickly.nA nice array of free newspapers for customers to browse, and a great vibe, with quietly charming, laid back yet efficient staff. Coffee was hearty with a good crema, the custard slice was delicious and tasted homemade.nI was glad I dropped and I’d heartedly recommend this cafe. They even had discounts for gold cards!
Cafe is in a historic building in a historic town serving beverages and baked goods.
This is my 2nd not so good experience in NZ and otherwise it's been beautiful. Everyone's been so friendly, cool, felt at home in a new country. I thought I might just get some local quick bite and a coffee. And was recommended by AI to visit this one. Well thought before my transalpine train scenic plus journey will stop at DP1 cafe. I think I should have gone to Robert Harris instead. The girl at the counter was rude. And I felt out of place and she came across as rude. I wanted to also grab something to eat but I was rushed and didn't feel good at all. I will never visit this place again and I do not recommend this please. Sorry but was not a good experience for me
