We took the ferry from Queens Wharf across the harbour to Day's Bay and lunch at the pavilion. Mid-week not too busy, good service, enjoyed our meals and drinks. Lovely outdoors area for children to play and views of the harbour through the trees. As cyclists, always look for secure areas and the Pavilion has bike lockup bars, there's also more directly across the road by the wharf. Kid-friendliness: Playing area outside, fenced from the road, fun for kids to play
DO NOT GET THE "DIRTY FRIES" I was expecting it to be like loaded fries but ended up paying $15 for a small bowl of fries with about a tablespoon of meat couple bits of onion/tomatoes... extremely disappointed for the price. Atleast put the price down because they are not worth $15. 2 stars because the pizza was nice
Visited on a Friday evening, warm welcome and staff very friendly. We ordered 2 x large pizzas and a small pizza and used our entertainment book voucher for 25% off so the small pizza was technically free. Expected a bit of a wait as there was quite a few tables occupied but the pizzas came out within 10/15 minutes and tasted absolutely lovely!! I had one with Parma ham, rocket and Parmesan and my husband had one with olives and meat on it can’t remember the name of it! my toddler had a Hawaiian. The pizzas were cooked to perfection and just the right amount of toppings. The ingredients tasted really fresh too. The ambience in the restaurant was really nice and plenty of space to eat outside too. Will definitely be returning to check out the rest of the menu. My toddler wanted a ice cream on the way out and the guy that served us was so calm and friendly with him. Toddler very much enjoyed his chocolate ice cream too!! Great place, keep up the awesome work
Great Vibe, food is amazing, live music is awesome and staff are friendly. What's not to like! There's a reason this place is legendary.Food: 5/5
A beautiful place to stop after a Sunday morning hike. The food, service, and coffee were all amazing. I highly recommend the smashed avocado, it's delicious! Lovely views, and beautiful grassy area for picnics and family games. Just an all round great place to be.Food: 5/5
Great service and wonderful place for a brunch. Oh yeah and the pizza is great, well done !
Outstanding spot within the park with sunny or sheltered outside seating, or a large inside space. The restaurant is accessible by ferry or road from Wellington. They were busyish when we arrived and service was slow. The menu is simple but has enought choices to satisfy most. My hot drink arrived a good five minutes before my wife's coffee with another five to ten minutes before our meals. My seafood chowder was very average. The wife's fish of the day, cod, was well presented and very nice. We lunch several times a year here, this visit was a little below par.
Not very friendly towards those who bring a picnic and use tables, even if you buy food from them as well, probably a manager being a manager However other staff were friendly. Had a special needs adult for a pinic day out. Love days bay but will think twice coming to the cafe area
Great spot, yummy food and fast service.Food: 5/5
Good place for food. Lots of entertainment things for kids outdoors. We had breakfast and had some office work. Got a corner table with our laptop and worked comfortably while enjoying coffee and pizza. Fish and chips was tasty.
