Loved it. Kazu has the best sushi in Wellington. It's fun watching all the seafood go around and around on the moving tray in the centre of the restaurant. Just pick out what looks the most yum, which can be difficult, because it all looks delicious. The smoked kingfisher is excellent, and they make some lovely fried dumplings. And I can't say no to spring rolls. Nice range of non alcoholic ciders too. Friendly customer service and a chill atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Keep coming back here! The sushi train is so tempting and delicious. Great solution for delicious, quick lunch with no hustle. It is strategically located in Cuba st. The place is not so big but can decently accomodate 20ish people. You can get a variety of sushi here, with salmon, beef, chicken, tuna, and vegetarian choices as well. It has Udon, ramen and miso soup. They also provide tempura, tiramisu, cream puff and various Japanese cider. They also have kids’ menu.
I been here like I week 3time, coz they got so many seafood choices I like the scallop sushitaste like juicy and yummy
Nice, easy, convenient. Chicken katsu mightve been a little overcooked but was still yum overall, satisfied my craving of curry udon and the sushi was fine
My kids and I love a sushi train so this was a great choice for us. Tasty sushi, simple set up, affordable and a quick, satisfying meal. 5 stars if you're not looking for anything too flash :Food: 4/5
It’s hard to complain about a place where the food literally appears before your eyes. The sushi is good. The fish is fresh and the rice portions are kept in perspective ie not gigantic. Tiramisu is a little out of character but probably loved by many.
This place is great for good and cheap lunch. Stumbled upon this place searching for another restaurant but glad I tried it out. Would be my go to for lunch. You can get good proportion lunch for under $15
Small homey atmosphere. Shortish wait. They were out of several items on the menu. Overall decent sushi. Would return.Recommended dishesSushi Train, Tempura
I have been coming here for 13+ years. It has changed names an presumably ownership more times than I can count. Which bugs me. My recent visit was a huge disappointment. The food is very limited in scope now. And the quality has declined a lot. The price has been remarkably stable though. Despite the place being festooned with "hiring now" signs there was a distinct lack of staff. Just one person avaliable to serve me and tend to the food making. They were doing their best. There were no bowls at my seat. No water was served. No top up of my beer was offered. I arrived hungry. I left hungry. It will sadly be my last visit. Surely there must be something better. If you have been here before but not in the last year I think you will be disappointed. If you have not been here for 3 or more years you will be shocked. Parking: semi easy to park right outside during the day.
Our favorite place for lunch and dinner. Ramen is always good. Rapa shell and scallops are 2 of my favorites. Best sushi go around you can get in Wellington for the ingredients available. Good selection of sashimi to choose from. Staff are always friendly. Much much better than the Courtney place one which seem to have lots of fried wontons and spring rolls.
