What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program that gets results, fast! Whether you are coming out of retirement, looking for that competitive edge in sports or just want to be a fitter, healthier person, CrossFit will help get you there.
Our training is broad and inclusive, giving rise to Crossfit's specialty of not specializing. We work on the ten recognised domains of fitness (Cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, Strength, power, speed, stamina, agility, flexibility, accuracy, balance and coordination) as a deliberate attempt to increase work capacity, considered to be the holy grail to improving fitness. Combining this concept with the CrossFit prescription of training, performing constantly varied, functional movements and executing these at high intensity allows us to achieve a superior overall fitness.
CrossFit exercises mimic the movements we were born to do naturally ie running, jumping, pulling, throwing, lifting etc. These natural elements combined with weight lifting and gymnastics provide the basic structure of CrossFit WODS (Work Out of the Day). The ideology behind this type of structuring not only makes us fitter and stronger, it also prepares us for the unknown and unknowable events life throws at us.
