Crawford Reserve

Small quite manicured patch of grass, looks like it could be a nice lunch spot. There are some trees on the side bank that offer a bit of shade at the right time of day and a wooden deck area, but mainly just grass so if you do find yourself stopping for a picnic make sure you bring a hat and sunblock.

The park is located on one end of Howick Village close to the stockade hill. There is a viewing platform on one side that has really nice views of the sea. There are seats here too. The grass on the side has large levels which could be used for seating. The circular path goes around the grass and leads to a small garden on the other side. The decking over the garden is quite nice and gives much needed shade particularly when the sun is out. It is decently sized but hard to see since the bulk of it is below the street level. Lots of parking in the area and a fairly decently sized park so it is a nice place to play in.

Doing a St John first aid refresher course at the Uxbridge Art Centre, I needed a place to munch lunch. What better place than here with the views down to the bottom end of Waiheke Island.
