Counterpunch Parkinson's was founded by Lisa Gombinsky Roach who brings nearly 20 years of Conductive Education and Parkinson's exercise expertise to her work with people with Parkinson's in New Zealand.
Counterpunch Parkinson's classes are New Zealand's best non-contact boxing and exercise groups for people with Parkinson's Disease. Classes are coached by qualified, accredited coaches who are supported by head coaches Alexander Roach, Alexis Pritchard, and Lisa Gombinsky Roach. Participants take part in boxing drills and exercises that encourage balance, agility, coordination, strength, concentration, and so much more.
Focus is on agility, balance, coordination, size and speed of movement, strength, flexabilty, posture, functional mobility, and most importantly - FUN!
The classes take place at Shane Cameron Fitness -- a fabulous authentic boxing gym in Northcote, Auckland and at The Wreck Room in Eden Terrace -- and we are working to expand to other locations so please enquire about a class in your community.
Counterpunch Parkinson's classes are open to boxers of all abilities and will be adapted as necessary.
