Coachman's Motel | Motel in Invercargill

Went to look at renting a long term room, I'm suprised the place hasn't been shut down due to serious health and safety issues, breaches & Hazards. I have lodged a complaint with ICC & MBIE

Quite possibly the most disgusting motel I have ever stayed in. Literal dump! From the piles of rubbish and construction waste out front. Seems like a construction project that started but has never been finished.nNo reception to check in, had to phone up a number and be directed to where the room was, despite arriving within the open hours.nRoom stunk of smoke.nFridge didn't work.nGraffiti on the front of the fridge and microwave.nFilthy carpet.nLuckily the bed sheets were clean.nAccess to the room was via a back alley up stairs so appeared and felt dangerous at night time.nNoisy, unsettling for solo traveler.nDefinitely evidence of emergency housing with in complex with several undesirable people hanging around.nDidn't feel safe leaving anything in the room so took my suitcase in the car each day while out and about in Invercargill.nDefinitely do not stay here.nI should have read the reviews before booking rather than assuming it'd be the same as 15years ago when I last stayed here. Absolute drop in quality.nAnd to top off was overcharged! Secret credit card fees!nAvoid at all costs!nSuch a shame given it's convenient location to Stadium Southland.

This place is a Solid two for communication and not showing pictures of the Facility the facilities are completely run down mattresses had piss stains on them and blood and floors have not been vacuumed and the window was also smashed the toilets and showers were absolutely disgusting I wouldn't recommend living in these facilities they are overpriced for a couples room @ $350 per week and not maintained to reasonable standards

We have traveled a lot and have never before had such a bad experience with a motel.nIt was filthy, and the room stunk of stale cigarette smoke.nI had to wash the bathroom floors before I could bring myself to walk on them.nThere was grime and dirt everywhere. I had to clean every surface.nThe carpet had definitely not been vacuumed.nShower drain was blocked.nPlates were wet in the cupboard.nNo knivesnNo teaspoonnNo wine glass nTV didnt worknOld single duvet on double bednNo hand towelnNo faceclothsnCurtain coming off its track.nIt was disgusting.nWe were forced to stay there overnight, having previously booked online for 2 nights, as there was No other accommodation available in Invercargill due to the Bluff Oyster festival.nWe packed and left the next morning, out of pocket and had to leave town to find a vacancy elsewhere.nDo Not book at this motel!nAnd this motel should be removed from all online booking platforms to protect future unsuspecting guests

I had to head to Invercargill for a last minute work trip and all other Invercargill accommodation was booked up so I ended up staying here two nights.nnThe room was filthy and had ripped curtains.nnThe kitchen was feral, there is only a small amount of things in there to use however nothing was usable and even after I tried to wash a cup for a coffee I just couldn't get it clean.nnThe oven was so dirty I don't even know if it would have been worth trying to clean it in general and I personally would just dispose of.nnThe hot tap in the bathroom didn't work, couldn't even turn it on.nnthe mould in each room was so bad, mainly all around the window sills.nnThe toilet was so black and gross, I was too scared to even sit on it.nnThe worst part of the whole experience was the traffic noise. Being right on a highway intersection where trucks drivers never sleep, I estimate I would have got about 4 hours of broken sleep over the two night stay, not at all relaxing.nnSuch a shame as it could have a nice place once before.nalthough you can never stop traffic noise, It could certainly do with one huge revamp and clean.nThis is a reminder just to check the reviews before booking.
