A beautiful place. Visited from Auckland and spent a good few hours here, can’t beat it on a gorgeous sunny day! Lots if birds who all look very happy, plus a range of trees, flowers and stunning scenery. The conservatory is a great experience and full of interesting plants. Will definitely be back!
Lovely botanical garden during spring. Lots of flowers from azalea, magnolias and camellias. Roses are in bud flowers, need to wait a little bit for the blossoms. Lot of flowers too in the hot house as you can see on the picture. Another little house for the fern with wood moas. Car park is free during three hours, it is enough to visit all the park.
Always an amazing place for a walk any time of year. Beautifully curated with many different zones for different plants. Lots of choices for picnic spots. Each of the tropical houses or fern houses are a must see with the range of colourful flowers and plants
A very stunning park with many specific, colourful and gorgeous plants. Very suitable for relax and unwind or walking. Let's enjoy your peaceful moments with your friends or your family in this park.
Loved it! The roses on display was amazing! Great place to visit. Birds singing, ducks with ducklings, next to the Avon River n sculptures to see. Will definitely come back n do the whole place.
Large garden with a variety of interesting plants from around the world to see. Good to take the family to. The Canterbury Museum is right next to the garden which is also free, so it's a great location to spend half a day, if not more.
A huge garden with many beautiful flowers and perfect for an evening stroll! Christchurch Botanic Gardens is located in the center of Christchurch city and is a short stroll from the Canterbury museum. The gardens are well-kept and worth a visit. The colorful and fresh flowers were bright and photogenic. There were many big trees and a covered visitor center. Highly recommended to anyone!
An amazing garden space in the middle of Christchurch city that borders the Avon river in places. There are numerous indoor and outdoor gardens of various themes and a cafe and restroom facilities. Highlights were the indoor cactus garden, outdoor rock garden, the giant gum tree and watching the river punts take tourists for a ride up and down the Avon river surrounded by bird life including ducklings.
These Gardens are a must visit when in Christchurch. They are best in spring and summer, especially when the rose garden is in full bloom. There are also many other smaller specilised gardens within the grounds and they also are worth a visit. Four stars in winter, and five stars in summer. Thank you.
Beautiful! Love beautiful flowers & colors during spring and plentiful roses in rose garden in early summer. You'll amaze to see many types of roses with various colors! They have playground and small pool open on summer and its kid's friendly park. Love to come here with kids
