The food wasn't bad for a quick restaurant. It could have used a little more salt but the flavors were good. We got the burger which I wouldn't recommend, popcorn chicken, Caeser salad, fish and chips, and beef short rib. The beef short rib was the best, slow cooked and tender.
This is pretty much the only place open for dinner in Mt. Cook Village, as evidenced by the long waiting line for orders when we arrived at 19:45. We ordered beef ribs $39.50, salmon $38.00, a beer and an apple juice. Due to the overwhelming number of guests compared to the staff, it took a whole 45 minutes for our order to arrive. The beef ribs were soft and tender without being overcooked, while the salmon was fresh. Staff was friendly, the place was spacious and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, the food was good and the place was comfortable enough, and there isn't much of a choice anyways.
Pretty much the only few places to have dinner around the area. The view was outstanding at 8pm during summer. Food was somewhat ok.. my beef burger was quite good. The pork loin and short ribs were both quite dry , but very tender..nnOverall, we are satisfied with our dinner over here as there were no other choices .nnStaffs are very friendly and helpful! Waiting time was reasonable 25-30minutes given the overwhelming crowd!
Perfect place to eat and drink after a long day of hiking, especially if you are staying at the adjoining hotel. We actually ate here twice. The view is amazing, of course the window seats were in high demand but it was easy enough to get a table. Order food at the bar and pick it up when it's ready, it's not fancy service which for us was perfect. They had plenty of gluten free options - the risotto and beet root salad were so good.
We’d read a bunch of pretty average reviews but decided to give it a go & we were pleasantly surprised. We both had the Chicken Caesar salad which was quite sizeable & tasty. While the restaurant itself doesn’t have much ambience the views make up fir that.
