Despite the previous good reviews and promise of a good meal, this was the worst fish and chips we've had here in New Zealand. It was absolutely full of grease and we ended up throwing away our entire $70 food order. We did give the establishment an opportunity to rectify by phoning them, which in all fairness they offered a replacement meal, hence the 2 star for service. However, we really weren't keen on giving it a 2nd try.
Beautiful! My family and I have come to Taupō for a week, after deciding to get a quick dinner we enjoyed this meal a lot! The chips were cooked perfectly, not too soft and not too crunchy. Although, I did not get fish myself, it was highly rated by those who had it. Alongside amazing food, the customer service was excellent! we were greeted by staff with a smile which really does go a long way. As much as I love my Fish and Chips back in welly, they aren’t nearly as good as this!
Well, I'm embarrassed to say but my wife and I accidentally ate it all before we could show off our lunch.nnOur only regret of the whole experience is that we didn't get two scoops! nnI can say that this was the best fish and chips we've ever had. The chips were light and fluffy yet slightly crispy on the outside, they were filled with flavour!nnThe snapper was crumbed to perfection and was the best snapper I've ever had. It wasn't dry or undercooked, or too chewy. We will be back before we head back to the land down under. We will be spreading the word!nnThanks again. A must go to my friendly earth dwellers!
Good store with plenty of range & options .nStaff were most welcoming for us tired travellers . The snapper cocktails & chips went down well & I appreciate use of good oil & the lemon & chicken salt .nThe space invaders arcade game was a blast from the past !nGood food indeed , thank you .
Ordered over $60 worth of food. quite disappointed with quantity and hygiene. Ordered 4 scoops of chips and received what felt like 1.5/2 scoops worth. There were bits of hair in the chips and cooked into the ribs. Payed for 6 ribs but only received 4. On the upside kumara chips were good. All in all disappointing with what used to be a top notch fish and chip shop.
