We stayed at the manager of this hotels other hotel bonnington, our stay ended in a trip to Bournemouth police station regarding the manager of this hotel, the police were in-fact aware of him and we were just one of many people who had made similar complaints regarding disturbing threatening behaviour. Avoid anything to do with him at all costs.
Stayed in hotel for two nights and we were not happy with the service we were provided with. Firstly, when we arrived we didn't have clear instructions as to which hotel we were staying at we were originally supposed to stay in Carisbrooke but we got allocated in to Bonnington hotel instead. Also, after our first night stay NO ONE cleaned or tidied our room which we were very disappointed about. Also we got no shower gel. When we went to ask a male night staff on 24/07/19 about why our room was not cleaned and if we could have some shower gel, he said that he can't provide the facilities because we bought the room cheap. He was very rude to us and he later knocked on our hotel room door and told us that we bought the room cheap and now from tomorrow the prices are rising- that's why we are not providing you with any of the facilities. If this was the case, then the instructions should be clearly stated on the hotel site so we are aware about what services we will be provided. Also, on the next day, we had no hot water in our shower which was very disappointing as we had to check out at 10:00 that day. The shower was not fixed and overall, I felt my stay was very unpleasant. Very disappointed and poor customer satisfaction. The only thing we liked was the location as it was close to the beach. Hotel service was very poor.
We stayed as a group of 3 separate people so the value was about £22 each for the night with breakfast which was good value for us, however £65 for a family of 3 might view it a bit expensive for what they paid. Good points it is really close to the beach. The rooms and bedding is clean. It just is dated and old. Beds weren't too bad although my mattress was smaller than a single and didnt sleep great as I kept falling off. Overall breakfast was hot and they had cereal and juice so for the price not a bad deal. Parking is £5 for the day and night stay so take that into account. I would stay again as a person sharing with others but as a family I would pay a bit extra and go somewhere else.
This is my 3rd stay. Very basic rooms, paid £28 for the night and you get exactly what you expect for that amount of money, staff where very approachable And chatty. Gave us an “upgrade” room. Kettle but no mugs or tea and coffee not a problem for us personally. Would stay again due to the price and hospitality of the staff. Rooms are clean but in need of some TLC.
I'm rating this as five stars in relevance to the hotels price and the context of our stay. Very reasonable prices £140 for a week?! Onsite parking for a fiver per day and breakfast for a fiver. It was a buffet style breakfast with the usual fry up options, but the food was awesome! Really enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were helpful and friendly. Like most people staying, we were there on a stag do and the room was perfect for this - 4 beds in a room, toilet and shower. The location is good, 5-10 minute walk from town but local pubs/shops/curry house within 1 minutes walk. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a business or family stay, but ideal for a stag/hen do or a weekend out in Bournemouth.
You get what you pay for I guess. The rooms were OK, nothing special, just basic standard contemporary furnishings, good for a 1 nights stay, nothing more or you'll be dreading it! The hotel isn't really family friendly since a lot of people who stay at this hotel come for stag do's or nights out in Bournemouth. So especially at night it can be very noisy, and there isn't much sound proofing so you will definitely be woken up by loud drunks in the night. Room wasn't that clean either, breakfast was also OK, with your standard 'English breakfast' type of foods. Only plus I have is that it was a cold night, and luckily the heater stayed on the entirety of the night and day!
Avoid! Did not feel safe - shocking manager. When you book a budget hotel you get what you pay for with the rooms, beds and cleanliness. What you don't expect is the manager of the hotel shouting at you and being extremely rude. Had seen other reviews that said similar things but assumed it wouldn't happen to us - no such luck. There was a bar advertised on the site, when we got there, there wasn't one so when we asked about it as we were understandably frustrated he proceeded to call us cheap, make personal rude comments and finish with "it's my hotel, I can what the hell I want". Felt very unsafe and nervous with four women. This is also combined with the Bonnington Beach hotel with the same manager. Absolutely avoid at all costs - there are plenty of alternatives around, use them.
In one word I would consider this hotel hostel? An "experience" We stayed as a stag party of 9. When we arrived we were greated by the manager overall a nice chap. He showed us the "stag entrance" the fire escape around the back We had 3 rooms for the 9. One room had bunk beds. We didn't think much of it as the room was cheap and we would only use it for sleep. It was also clean. The bed was comfortable. The room an ok size. I liked that the rooms were all next too each other. First night we came back to a water leak running down the hall way wall. Also I feel the reason we were showed the "stag entrance" is because when we walked through the front door. A swinger/bondage party was taking place. This had about 20/30 participants. It was not clear if this was a perk included with the hotel. Two of our party were denied entry as they had too much to drink. Credit where it is due. Breakfast in the morning, was good standard. Buffet with what you expect. It was in the hotel next door. Thankfully as the swinger party was in what I imagine to be a dinning area at other times The hotel defiantly gave us all a laugh. The people working there are nice. It is close to the town centre. I would not personally stay there again. However if you would like a laugh, want a cheap room, easy walking distance to town. This might just be for you.
Not very happy with the hotel many things was wrong 1 shower had to run for 3 minuets to get hot and it ran so slow it took me 15 minuets to have a shower I could off done it in my own in 5 minuets . 2 bed side lamps above my head one was broken and the other one got so hot I could feel the heat coming out of it I ended up turning it off . 3 room needed a paint . 4 toilet seat was not on well and it moved. 5 not happy we had a double bed with to single bed put together was not comfortable at all . 6toilet roll holder is coming off the wall 7 not enough milk or coffee in the room
Initial meeting with a member of staff was very hostile. Manager was friendly, we were told we had a big room.....the bedside lamp was broken, shower screen came off the runners, towels dirty, the worse creaky floor boards, pillows were yellow, 2 single plugs in the whole room. Didnt expect a huge amount for the price but staying in tent would have been better. Ended up booking out early and going somewhere else......if your reading this DONT STAY HERE....can get the travel lodge round the corner for same price :
