We had two orders between us and waited 40-45 mins for them. Mid afternoon, not at peak time. Asked for the parking code which is meant to give us two hours free but no one had any idea about that despite the sign in the car park. The chicken in my burger was grilled not buttermilk fried but I didn’t want to wait another 40 mins for them to fix it. Then see photos for how thin that chicken was. Begs belief they were happy serving that!
Sorry, long time burger fuel fan since Dom road opened. But this mission bay shop, prob a BF flagship in one of NZ’s tourist hotspots is a disaster like something out of the third world. Pigeons all over the place, trash everywhere, broken tables and filthy windows oil stained windows. Who the hell is running this franchise? My wife felt physically Ill and had to change from dine in to takeaway so we could eat offsite. 3pm on a Thursday during Jan holidays. Yeah the food was awful too - cold, dripping with wet sauce that soaked through the box, cold wet tenders. Also took 35 minutes even though we were the only ones in there? Staff standing around chatting. Embarassing. Worse than a McDonald’s. Hopefully no tourists saw this and assumed this is what nz’s #1 burger chain is like everywhere. Just… gross.
The worst burger I have had. I have had burgers in other burgerfuel and liked it. The place is filthy with wrappers on ground. Tables are not even wiped. Had to wait 40 minutes for burgers and seemed like nobody working there cared. Absolute waste of money.
I’m not one to complain, although my experience at Burgerfuel Mission Bay today is an exception because it was absolutely terrible. Wanted to share my experience to see if anyone else has noticed the same thing. Firstly I ordered at 6pm and I waited over 30 minutes for my order - in the time period I was waiting for my order I was observing and noticed that since the time I walked into the store there were fries sitting on the bench to the time I got my order those same fries were sitting there - this is totally unacceptable as I don’t pay an already excessive amount for fries and a burger for them not to be made fresh. Secondly the state of the restaurant itself was questionable and definitely not up to food health safety standards, from rubbish everywhere - pigeons trotting in and out of the kitchen, and tables that looked like they hadn’t been wiped for weeks. This is unfortunate because mission bay burgerfuel was my favourite spot and unfortunately I am terribly put off by the quality of the restaurant, and the food. And I will not be returning
Ordered 2 burgers. Both were served in good time. The guy at counter had ear phones on and didn't seem to hear my order and had to repeat. The burger itself was alright, one was as per normals, other seemed quite plain, and not as per usual BF standard. The burger also seemed smaller than usual was thr comment we had.Food: 3/5
Long time loyal burger fuel customer, but that was hands down the worst customer experience I have ever had... asked for 6 chicken tenders, they made 6 but had charged me for 4, they gave me 4 when I was expecting 6 and didn't tell me, I came back to ask, and was met with downright condescension, told me I had to pay $3 more to get the extra 2 they had already made. they also gave me the wrong sauce but then interrogated me about it, when I told them. also took a while to get served both times, the two staff were just laughing having chats while a bunch of customers waited. I'm not angry... I'm just disappointed
The staff have no clear and even less concern. 30mins for a couple of orders of chips. When I enquired how much longer she grabbed some from the stack on the counter top sitting for ages. The restaurant was filthy with no tables cleared or cleaned. Couldn't tell you the last time the restrooms were cleaned but it wasn't recently. Another person got a burger that was burned yet cold Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. Don't bother replying that you're sorry to hear this or want to make it right. You've said that on plenty of terrible reviews yet it is the same. Owner isn't leading a team.
Visited this afternoon for dinner at 5.30pm. The staff were disinterested in serving. The interior tables had previous customers meals left on tables. Wait time was average. Quality of food average
Shocking service. Huge delay after online order pickup time and no apology or even recognition from staff. Two staff were mucking around and chatting in the kitchen while wait times increased. Won't be coming back.
This review aims more towards the management. I do not have any problem with the quality of the burgers and other items that Burger Fuel offers in general, however, I cannot determine whether the problem is the staffing or the competency of the staff. I have placed an order online and was already expecting a wait of half an hour but that turned into almost an hour wait. The store seemed to be very busy which I would have understood but they just kept taking orders which I felt like they will not be able to accommodate due to previous orders from online — there were more than 5 people at least, including myself that were waiting for our orders to be ready. There was no customer service experience at all and on top of that, the entire dine in area was very untidy. My point is, if the problem is having short staff, please decrease the volume of orders you accept through all your channels — if that is not the problem, then please train your staff better. Lastly, if neither of those mentioned is the problem, set the right expectations to your customers.
