We stayed one night after a trip to Hobbiton for the Christmas Feast. Motel is easy walking distance to the visitor centre where you can get picked up. Room was comfy and clean, with friendly service from staff. Would recommend.
We stayed at Broadway Matamata Motel during the two days of the cyclone in New Zealand, and we had a wonderful experience.nnThe motel was exceptionally clean—not just “hotel clean,” but truly spotless. There wasn’t a single stray hair in the bathroom, and the bed sheets and pillows were fresh and perfectly presented. The kitchenware and utensils were neatly arranged, and even the color coordination showed the thoughtful touch of the lady host.nnThe host, Tony, was incredibly attentive. He carefully introduced the room and guided us through everything upon arrival. The next morning, when the cyclone arrived, he even came out in the rain to remind us that the wind and rain would soon get stronger, and told us to let him know if we needed anything—he would be happy to bring it to us.nnSuch genuine care made our stay truly memorable. It was an excellent experience, and we highly recommend this place.
Our room was spacious and modern, it seemed like it had been renovated recently. The owners and staff are lovely, and the location is great - very easy walking distance to town. It was nice and quiet and the aircon in the room was good. We will stay here again next time.
We had an incredible stay at Broadway Motel! They truly live up to their slogan, 'Home away from home.' A special thank you to the owner, who received us so warmly upon arrival—it made us feel welcome immediately. Both the check-in and check-out processes were incredibly smooth and stress-free.n​The rooms were absolutely spotless, spacious, and perfect for the kids. It’s rare to find a place so genuinely kid-friendly; they had games available to keep the little ones busy, and the playground was a huge hit. The swimming pool was also sparkling clean, and we appreciated that all the amenities and toiletries we needed were provided.n​The location is unbeatable—walking distance to the city center, Woolworths, the information center, and plenty of great eateries. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient stay.
Booked this accomodation 7 months in advance for a wedding to have the accomodation cancelled the day before due to an accident. Seems like these “accidents” happen regularly after reading similar reviews. When you plan well in advance for an important event, you expect a business to stand by its commitment. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. I would not recommend staying here if you need reliability especially for important occasions
