Story

Broadway Motel & Miro Court Villas are located in the centre of Matamata township or Hobbiton as it is often referred to. We have 20 units,(15 ground level,5 upstairs)...... standard(older style), deluxe and executive. Being so central means we are only a couple of minutes walk from the cafes, bars and clubs, plus there is a gym, squash courts and the Matamata Sports Centre opposite us.
Our guests are welcome to use our private spa, our swimming pools with an attached toddlers pool and chidren's playground.

A clean property, friendly host, a spacious room, although the bathroom was small, the towels were luxurious. As for the extra large double bed - that was heavenly. Home away from home without the cleaning. This was the best motel stay we have ever had. Thanks Nearby activities: Hobbiton is an obvious activity. But the town itself seems to have a good vibe. Food & drinks: Osteria Matamata had great food
My family booked several rooms for the weekend and all found the spaces provided to be comfortable, clean and well kept. The amenities were great and the space would be ideal for families with children as the grounds are well set up to keep them entertained. The location was perfect as all the shops were in walking distance. The owner/manager was very agreeable and pleasant to chat to. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. We would recommend this space to any and all that pass through Matamata.
This was our second stay here. It’s a great stay for visiting Hobbiton. You can walk to grocery stores and restaurants truly just a couple minutes out the door. We used the on site laundry coin operated and appreciated and took advantage of the pool. At first we thought, “Oh no…this cupcake of a bed is so soft we’ll never walk again” and then in the morning marveled at what great sleep we got. For what it is—this place is perfect: there’s a kitchenette, it’s clean, owners are attentive, and all is well!
We stayed one night before going on the Hobbiton tour. Overall great value. The rooms were clean and spacious. Location was ideal for walking to restaurants and coffee shops. If I was ever back in the area I would stay here again.
My son and I visited New Zealand 2nd trip in 11 months, and finally got to visit Hobbiton. We needed a place to stay overnight in the area and we chose the Broadway Motel - I’m so glad we did. The rooms were spacious, clean, contemporary, and very comfortable. They are also just steps from some very nice restaurants and cafes. If you find yourself in Matamata and you REALLY DO want to find yourself there and elsewhere in New Zealand, stay at Broadway. You’ll be so glad you did. Walkability: Just steps from restaurants, shops, and cafes.

We had a confirmed booking to them but when we arrived they told us that our booking was cancelled. I’m so disappointed… They said that Booking .com called them to cancel our booking. Apparently Booking .com doesn’t have any authority to cancel our confirmed booking. They are the one who cancel our booking because they can’t accommodate us for some reason. So next time be aware to Broadway Motel or else be ready for disaster . Not good ..
