Not only just in their food but also in their service and ambiance Indian Roots truly lives up to the word 'authentic'. From the succulent Butter Chicken to the aromatic platter via New Delhi, each dish in their menu has a unique flavor and a distinct history to it. Kudos to the team at Indian Roots for bringing this splendid Indian culinary experience that Christchurch was yearning for. Will be back for more!

Amazing food… One of the best Afghani chicken I ever had. Besides that their curries are absolutely delicious. Huge variety of Indian breads and starters.One of its kind Indian restaurant in Christchurch. Highly recommend to other.

Absolutely exceptional food with no sugar and the perfect amount of spice. The lamb vindaloo was the best I've ever had! The Naan bread was crispy and tasty without being dry. The rose Lassi was also amazing, definitely a drink worth trying. Can't wait to come here again! Vegetarian options: Good range of veggie options

Loved everything we tried. So much variety and made authentically, not too sweet and the quality of ingredients is great. The chicken tikka was amazing and both our curries were so flavoursome. Lots of options for vegetarians as well. They have a good drinks menu too. The service was really friendly and attentive. We are so delighted that this place is only a 6 min walk from our house.

One of the best experiences we had in a long time. Food is amazing, a long awaited break from Cream filled curries. Food is homely, traditional and succulent, with every morsel filled with flavor. Must try and we are definitely going again. Please keep the food as it is, my heart isn't filled even though my tummy is. PN: The Hyderabadi Biryani is added now, which is awesome too..

That’s one of my husband and mine favourite place to have dinner for our date night! They are awesome and have a lot of vegan options! Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!

After ages I had a great time eating delicious food at Indian Roots. The Owner, manager and waitress were very friendly and helped to select the perfect dish for my family. The atmosphere was awesome gave us a nice Indian touch. Most importantly, every food and drink on your menu tasted great! Would definitely come back soon!!

So happy to learn of this restaurant! The food is the best Indian food I have had in New Zealand. I can't wait to go back again. The naan breads are light and fluffy unlike the naans at many other Indian restaurants in Chch. There is a good selection of other breads too. In terms of the food, my favs were the paneer tikka and butter chicken. The restaurant feels very clean and has plenty of seating. Well done to the owners : It is definitely worth the trip from the city for me, I can't wait to go back
