We come here a lot. We used to live in South India and coming here reminds us very much of the food we used to eat there. Very authentic. We also brought family here to give them a new experience and they also raved about the food.
Their chaat is one of the best chaats in Christchurch. And the service is always good. Prices are still reasonable, most importantly the food quality was really impressive. It’s a must try for people who miss Bombay food!
Great food, have been going there regularly since the first week they opened. Reason for 3 star: disappointed to see an established restaurant to serve food on disposable dishes and cutlery. Not for takeaway, but for dine in. What's worse, they switched from proper dishes to disposable. Please be better than the profit driven American companies who don't care about dining experience or environment.
Traveling to New Zealand from India, we were longing for some authentic Indian food .. Bikanerwala, Christchurch more than delighted us!! All the dishes that we tried were excellent, both in taste & in quantity! There is a great menu to select from - north, south, West Indian! And a whole spread of sweets too! And all this without really hurting your pocket! And the icing on the cake was the quick and excellent service, especially by Jass! Vegetarian options: It is one of the few ‘Vegetarian only’ outlets in Christchurch! Parking: Though is in the main part of the city, we managed to get a parking spot each time we visited! The best Indian food and sweets in Chch. Authentic hygienic and well prepared. Thought I’ve been to Bikanirwala nearly 100 times since I’ve moved to Chch last year, today I feel compelled to leave a great review. Normally we have a Rajdhani thali - a luxurious meal enough for two with many dishes, two snack items, a drink and an amazing sweet rasmalai yumm!! Today as part of Onam celebrations they had a Onam Sadya. Though not a full fledged Kerala Sadya, every item was so good and authentic that it left us feeling full and nostalgic. Our sincere thanks to the chefs and staff at Bikanirwala. Keep up the good food and service guys! We will keep coming back for more.
Food was nice, good price
Kia ora folks, Food not good. Its not authentic and tasteless. Felt uncomfortable with an Indian chef Pyar staring at me constantly in lustful manner. Staff should stay in their limits and talk only relevant things not personal
Food was average and did not have street food feel being an Indian myself I rate this way below any star. Bolina and Novelty sweets is much better and cheaper options in the area.
Ordered a cheese dosa today and couple dhokla. I was very disappointed to see they are serving dine in disposable plates. Dosa was not great either. Moreover they forgot to bring my dhokla which i had to get on my way out. Very disappointing!!
If you are crazy about for Indian chats or chopati stuffs than this is the place in Christchurch City. This is a pure veg restaurant which is quit rare in NZ. They keep every type of Indian sweets and dessert. They also provide South Indian food. We ordered chole kuclcche and chole bhature. I really liked chole baji. Food was delicious. Restaurant is very Spacious and beautiful inside. Stuff was good. Totally recommended If u guys looking for any Indian junk food then go to this place and have.
