Stayed here before I went to Rakiura. Kay was amazing. Its an old building and has a very different look and feel to a modern hostel but I really enjoyed it. Its something you will never forget. Its priced really well and has the option to park your vehicle there while you visit Rakiura, good price. Eveyone I met was friendly and welcoming. Can walk to the ferry in 2 minutes from the front door.
Great little camping spot in Bluff!nnWe stayed here in our van because we did the shark dive experience nearby, and the location was absolutely perfect. Only $30 for two people, which is great value for money.nnThe owner was incredibly lovely and welcoming, which made the stay even better. You immediately feel comfortable and well looked after.nnA funny and unique detail: there are lots of shoes hanging on the fence, left by travelers making their way from the North Island to the South Island or the other way around. It gives the place real character and makes it memorable.nnWould definitely recommend this camping spot and would come back anytime!
Stayed here last min after leaving our car keys on Stewart island, kay checked us in and was super kind and hospitable. The residents and guests were just as kind. Great value and atmosphere!
Perfect place to stay in Bluff to see the sites or to leave your vehicle while you visit Stewart Island. We stayed out the back in the carpark in our van... super cheap at like $35 for the 3 of us to use all the facilities inside. $5 a day to leave your car there securely.nKay and Atu are both legends and so helpful and friendly they make this place a little home away from home. The rooms inside are basic but clean and super cosy and only around $30 a night depending on which type of room you choose.nThe building is ancient and so full of rustic charm and history its a joy just to hang out there and take it all in.nCannot recommend this place highly enough. Thanks for having us Kay and for giving my daughters some gloves when they had misplaced theirs. You're an absolute treasure !
Kay is an absolute little gem and was so friendly and accommodating. We stayed in her back garden in our van before and after we did the Rakiura great walk and she was so useful and supportive by letting us use all of the facilities such as the hot shower and kitchen whilst also letting us keep the van there for 3 days for a very small price. Overall the prices she charges are so cheap and well priced given the service, facilities and location and so if you're staying in Bluff to go to one of the nearby islands, I could not recommend staying here enough and getting to know Kay!
