Absolutely amazing....managed to see about 30+ penguins waddle up the beach. Good viewing platform. Best viewing is on the far left as you walk down to the platform as there is a small gully the penguins follow up to their nesting boxes.

So cool....well worth it. About 35-40mins from centre of Dunedin. Well organised and would recommend going to the far left of the viewing platform to get a better view of the penguins as they follow the path to their nesting boxes.

Awesome to see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat, flocking to the beach and running to their nests. Must experience
Event though it's kind of artificial, you'll still be surprised to see so many penguins so close. Good view of so many sea gulls at the base too if you arrive early.
Great place, I was lucky & we saw ~95 penguins come in, which included a raft of 50 something. The decking allows you to be fairly close without being in the way, & they have enough lighting so that you can see the penguins as they come up after dark. You could also hear them everywhere making quite a racket! Worth going to!
