Enjoyable visit to Larnach Castle. We used a two for one entry voucher to both the gardens and the building. Learning about the history of the building was really interesting and the surrounding gardens are well maintained.
The castle and gardens are beautiful. The trip up the peninsula is well worth it. There are fantastic views of the harbour everywhere you look. We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea while there. The staff were all friendly and helpful too.
The weather was a bit showery when we visited but fascinating to learn about the history and see the amazing architecture and decor.
Went for Christmas Lunch - a true banquet. Beautiful gardens to walk in to gain an appetite and after lunch to walk off the many treats. A great visit for all the family.
Beautiful restoration of a piece of New Zealand history with a restaurant Cafe on site and souvenir shop. You can also buy plants. Lovely gardens. A good place to spend a day or celebrate on a special occasion. Staff were cheerful, respectful and knowledgeable.
I mean, it's not a castle is it? Still well worth a visit though - the house is splendid and there are still rooms to be restored to their former glory to warrant return visits. And the grounds are gorgeous and the views of the peninsula are spectacular.
