It’s cozy, compact room! We were skeptical when we booked it since it was a motel, but it turned out great.nnLocation is perfect- Franz Josef is tiny and you can walk everywhere and this is right in the middle. You don’t need your car once you arrive.nnThe room is tiny but served the purpose. There was hot shower, rooms had a heater, and a heated blanket. There were kitchen appliances toaster and hot water kettle and plateware provided.nnWe had an upstairs room facing the mountains, it was beautiful. It was a great place for our one night stay.nnOnly con: We were sick and had to change our reservation last minute from 2 nights to one night. We requested for the hotel to waive our one night fees but they declined. We understand this is their tourist season and we were within the cancellation window. But it was worth asking!nnAll in all, it’s a clean hotel, with hot water and great location.
We checked into Bella Vista in Franz Josef on Christmas Eve after hours, check-in was smooth and we were greeted by Jim I think that was his name the following day to give us a map and some brief info about accommodations and attractions to visit during our stay. We were travelling through NZ for a full month so we appreciated the hot plate, microwave, toaster, etc. in the room. The room was very clean, the location could not have been more convenient and we had a beautiful view of the mountains, despite the rainy weather. Would recommend!
My wife and I stayed 2 nights here and we're very happy we chose it. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very kind and hospitable! We had a good view of the mountains from our hotel balcony whenever the mist gave us a window.
Compact room. Roomy bathroom . Comfortable bed. Easy parking. Easy check in. Walkable to everything. Everything we needed. Warm and cosy. Laundry facilities. Dining options close by. Activities and walks, only minutes away. If had the opportunity would stay again. Traveing around NZ and one of the lovely places we stayed. Ice and welcoming host.
Warm welcome and in a very good position.nRoom very compact but comfortable.nDon’t really like washing up in the bathroom sink! but for the utensils we used it was bearable.nAll in all a nice stay
