We checked into Bella Vista in Franz Josef on Christmas Eve after hours, check-in was smooth and we were greeted by Jim I think that was his name the following day to give us a map and some brief info about accommodations and attractions to visit during our stay. We were travelling through NZ for a full month so we appreciated the hot plate, microwave, toaster, etc. in the room. The room was very clean, the location could not have been more convenient and we had a beautiful view of the mountains, despite the rainy weather. Would recommend!
My wife and I stayed 2 nights here and we're very happy we chose it. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very kind and hospitable! We had a good view of the mountains from our hotel balcony whenever the mist gave us a window.
Lovely spot in central Franz Josef. The host at reception was amazing, gave us helpful information and knew the area well. There were a range of birds in the trees behind our unit including Tui and Kea. Room was warm, clean and comfortable.
Our choice of stay at Franz Josef since it was value for money, and also provided a package that includes a hot tub experience and a dining voucher too!nn the stay itself was good, room was generally clean, and we got a ground floor unit which had a parking lot in front of us. The walls were a little thin though, we could hear our neighbours into the night as we switched off our TV. That said, it was a good night sleep on both of the nights we stayed.nn the location was great, especially since the town is very small. With it being centrally located, we basically didn’t see the need to drive during our entire trip there - caveat being we didn’t go out of town.nnDefinitely a good motel to stay in for your visit here, friendly service across all their staff too!
Compact room. Roomy bathroom . Comfortable bed. Easy parking. Easy check in. Walkable to everything. Everything we needed. Warm and cosy. Laundry facilities. Dining options close by. Activities and walks, only minutes away. If had the opportunity would stay again. Traveing around NZ and one of the lovely places we stayed. Ice and welcoming host.
