Alpine Glacier Motel in Franz Josef is a fantastic place to stay! The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The receptionist was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to keep us updated on road closures, which was a huge help. Highly recommend for a pleasant and well-cared-for experience!
We had a delightful stay at the Alpine Glacier Motel. The cozy atmosphere and convenient location near numerous restaurants and the Four Square grocery store made it a perfect base for our exploration of the area. The motel manager was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond by upgrading our room at no extra charge. All of the staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home.nnThe motel's proximity to the glacier hiking paths was a major highlight. We were able to easily access some stunning trails and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. If you're planning a trip to this region, we highly recommend the Alpine Glacier Motel for a comfortable and convenient stay.
Located right in the heart of Franz Josef township behind the petrol station on the main road. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were cosy and warm on a cold late winter. The manager Anthony let us have umbrellas when it was raining. Such a super nice guy. We wish him and his team well.
Room was very clean and tidy. Nice short walk to the general store and the helicopter take off and landing pad was interesting to watch. Short drive then shirt hike to go see the remains of the glacier. You can walk to the bridge to see some amazing sunsets.
Short walk to the shops.nRight next to petrol station.nPark right in front of your room.nClean but slightly ageing.nAble to cook own meal with fridge and cook top.nHeated towel railing, small luxury that was welcomed.nCoin-operated laundry is available onsite.
