I was overall pretty disappointed with this place. Upon arriving, we went into our room only to find someone else’s stuff in the room. Turns out these people somehow got the rooms mixed up, entered the room that was being cleaned and had set up their wet clothes on the end of the bed, which was not the fault of the facility. Reception was quick to remedy the problem but I was not impressed that they didn’t clean the areas where these people had put their stuff. The toilet seat was completely broken off the toilet. The fan in the room was literally falling apart. Some of the outlets didn’t work. No hand towel for the bathroom or paper towels. The dead lock didn’t work on the main door, The bathroom door also didn’t lock. The beds don’t have actual blankets, it was some kind of liner placed between two flat sheets. The location is quite perfect right near the lake and amongst lots of shops and restaurants. For the price we paid for the room, this place was not worth it. I hope this place can take note and improve in the future.
This is a great venue in a fabulous location. A short walk to multiple pubs/bars/restaurants/cafes. Very reasonably priced; definitely worth it.nRima one of their staff members is absolutely amazing. Couldn’t rate her service and manner higher. She was lovely to chat to, willing to help and knowledgeable about the town and local amenities. So good to have a fabulous person like herself at reception to greet staying guests.nOver all my friends and I have nothing negative to say about the venue.
Overall very good place for what was expected. Room was clean, all amenities were accounted for.nGreat location in the middle of the Taupo CBD.nFor the price, location and everything else you can't knock it.
If you are providing travellers with a hostel and the amenities they require, I suggest you have a look at your kitchen utensils. Toaster doesn't go down properly, no spoons or forks and no cups...backpackers don't want to have to go and shell out on dinners and even a cup of tea. Very limited reception hours to even address these issues and our initial welcome was as cold as the icy kitchen temperatures. No vibe or social area, felt like a correctional behaviour institution.
Room is tiny, could not walk around it without rearranging bags.nnShower not clean.nnThe money paid for what you are getting is astronomically awful.nnMeant to stay 4 nights, left after the first night and checked into somewhere else.
