The ramen was full of toppings and flavorful. It was just a bit TOO spicy for the spicy ajisen. The pork buns were some of the fattiest ones I’ve ever had. All in all it was good but would order something different next time.
This place is literally my childhood. I grew up in chinatown most of my life so I use to come here all the time and my family would always order 2 fried squids! It hasn’t changed much and that’s what I love about this place! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful too!
It was amazing ! I got the miso ramen as well as the beef sukiyaki, the ajisen broth, the katsu don, and as appetizers I got the gyoza and the Japanese fried chicken. It was amazing! The broth was rich and savory and salty, the perfect mix! The beef sukiyaki was especially great! The servers were super nice and I loved them ! The katsu chicken was nice buttery and overall nice. It was a great place and I loved it !
My chicken ramen w curry was delicious! The taste of the sauce was mild, although I’d expect it to be more spicy. The restaurant itself has a humble interior and the only I’d object is sitting close to the door. Especially during wintertime, you need to sit in winter jacket. Otherwise you’ll get cold.
Simple, delicious, and a lot of flavor. Staff are friendly, but they were a little behind with a lot of people. Baos were good. The roll was delicious. And teriyaki chicken ramen was really good. The environment is really nice.
Solid ramen meal for lunch - it was just a bit saltier than expected. We ordered the Miso ramen, Ajisen ramen, and Chicken teriyaki ramen. The first dishes that came out were the miso ramen and Ajisen ramen, but both were lukewarm. We waited for about 5 minutes before the chicken teriyaki ramen came out and it was steaming hot. The first 2 did not have any steam when it was placed at our table. The chashu was very moist, but all the eggs were slightly overcooked. The yolk’s inside was nearly fully cooked on the outer edge which was disappointing. My dish - miso ramen - was honestly the most salty out of the 3. Also, they do not give free hot tea like other places do
My favorite ramen place in New York City! Best ramen. Big boy roll is delicious and I love the fried squid! I get the Ajisen deluxe ramen delicious! This year marks 10 years that I’ve been coming here. Never fails.
Not the best place for vegetarian ramen. There’s just one option for that and the broth looks and tastes like salt water with faint taste of other veggies without any spices. The options for toppings were not that great either, felt like I was eating salad in a clear soup because of all the lettuce and the onions. The noodle quality was good though. The service was also very good and the ambience is decent too, so 3 stars for all these points. All in all, I’ve been to better ramen places in NYC.
My usual stop after school whether alone or with friends, the ramen is quite flavorful and filling for a $12 dollar bowl. I usually also get a side of dumplings as well to go with my meal, overall its a nice place to get a full belly of food and to rest before moving on with your day.Food: 5/5
This is a great place for anyone looking for Japanese style food in the Chinatown area! The vibes are great, the staff are very efficient and the food is amazing! I got the Tonkotsu Curry and although it was a bit sweeter than what I normally have it was really good. The prices are affordable too. Totally worth the dinner-time wait! Wheelchair accessibility: There is no ramp to enter the restaurant, the only option is a staircase.
