Good experience so far. Helpful receptionists. Didn’t have to wait too long. Doctor called with x-Ray result when he said he would call. Nice new clinic. And to top it off: Cheaper than other places I’ve been to. Glad I enrolled here.
Been at this doctor for over 7 years mostly because of location. Dr Samiha Hayek is the best doctor they have, super friendly and takes time to listen and understand, Dr Mohammad Nuruzzaman is also not bad. Dr Coral Fonseca just seems to push you through, always seems rushed and Dr Grant Spence is probably one of the most unprofessional doctors I've ever seen, always talking politics or throwing in weird slightly sexist comments, always felt super uncomfortable around him. Most of the time they just send you on your way feeling like you were just another box to tic. You really need to push if you want them to do any sort of bloods, tests or referrals. I don't recommend this clinic unless you want consistently unreliable service.
I find it interesting that the managers here will only respond to "positive" feedback but continue to ignore the obvious and outstanding issues and bad feedback that their practice continues to receive. I'm usually skeptical about reading reviews, but the fact that it's coming from patients who have been here for YEARS says something about it. I've been a patient here for 30 years, and finally have taken myself to a new practice for only $1 in price increase, and The DIFFERENCE IN CARE IS UNBELIEVABLE. Avondale Family Health- Get yourselves sorted. The young receptionists are lovely, but The "care" from the older Drs is absolutely appalling. The only Dr here worth a dime is Dr Nuruzzaman, who provides wonderful care and actually listens.Sadly it wasn't enough to make us stay. Cherry is the only nurse here also worth seeing. Dr Spencer is unprofessional. He talks at a volume that makes sensitive issues difficult to discuss. Dr Fonseca is also a doctor I would avoid entirely. Address the real issues at this center instead of ignoring them.
The doctor I spoke to must have forgotten that a patient gets 15mins for each appointment because he was trying to finish it in 2mins. Jokes aside, Dr. Fonseca and Dr. Sun from this clinic are amazing but two other doctors we talked to were not.
Reception staff is very rude . Lady on the reception told me to wait for one hour but I was still sitting there for more than 2 hours. Even doctor are not friendly at all .. I will never come back to this clinic Please don’t waste your time Awful service, Always understaffed with doctors, looooong wait ... don't go there. Will definitely change of GP
Me and my partner went there for our covid vaccine, the staff were amazing, very welcoming and helpful. The staff guided us through the whole thing, it was nice and easy. We appreciate all the hard work that they do protecting and helping others
Shocking service. AVOID THIS CLINIC! Doctors have no idea what they doing and reception has no empathy. Awaited results for a test. Called and Receptionist said needed to make a consultation with doctor. Mean while in pain. Called 3 days later, pain severe, and asked if could talk to doctor as in alot of pain. Receptionist said she would speak to doctor. Then said i needed to wait another 2 days for Consultation and to go to White Cross if i was in pain. 2 days later, Called - spoke to Doctor for 5 mins who said results showed irregularities and to immediately go hospital. Why make me wait 5 days? when you could have check in 5 mins and had the results? Sadly this type of practice is increasing around new zealand now, focus on Business profits at the expense of customer quality. Avondale Family Health Centre especially reception Your processes and time is far more important than peoples lives
It's really sad to give 1 star, I have been with this Doctor since I was 5years old. It seems as if it's so hard to get a proper check up with these guys nower days. It was so hard to get a simple urine and blood test done, as I have been vomiting for the past 3 days and really needed a good health check up. The Doctors don't have there full attention on you when they see you, it's kind of a quick hi , give you a prescription, then bye.
Absolutely appalling service. Called this morning and was told they're doing phone consultations which is fine. Had an issue completely unrelated to covid. Spoke to the doctor and was met with a blunt and outright unprofessional response. No greetings, no introductions of which doctor I was even speaking to, he just instantly said "You're not vaccinated, see you at 9:30 for your vaccination". He kept stating to come and get vaccinated and then he would "sort the rest". If he had actually taken the time to listen he would've found out that I haven't been vaccinated yet due to the type of work I do and the hours worked which means every time I get off work, the centers closest to me are closed. I have other obligations to fulfill like taking care of my family so it hasn't been easy to just walk in and get vaccinated. Everyone says their employer gives time off to do so, but mine hasn't. I can't afford to just take a day off from work since living in Auckland seems to cost an arm and a leg. He wouldn't even listen to what I was calling about he didn't actually ask, but rather gave off the impression that they don't consider the unvaccinated worthy enough to even give a proper consultation. This is interesting considering that my mother called last week and being fully vaccinated, was met with a lot of respect and care. This has been our family doctor for DECADES and I have never had such treatment before so why the sudden change? This isn't a review against the vaccine, as I've stated above I have my reasons for why I haven't been able to yet but I would've appreciated being spoken to properly and heard like my mother was. The fact that I always received good service prior to all of this is telling of the reason why they've changed their stance all of a sudden.
Okay, where do I start? The receptionists are office cowboys overcharging patients over the counter. Doctors not all kept delaying my issues therefore worsening my condition. An apt is expensive and when I tried to address my health concerns I kept getting “no , it’s one problem at a time” - this happened over the years- when this happens I end up not going in because it’ll be too much money to spend when I could’ve sorted everything out in one appointment- extremely delaying my skin condition. - finally 7 years later a new doctor came In and I was finally able to address my concerns starting with my cold/flu as well as my skin. I was preparing myself for a ‘one problem at a time’ comment , but he didn’t - I think it may have been a new graduate and not the old doctors who should have retired a long time ago and for that I’m truly thankful - he prescribed me medication and it’s worked it’s magic. They even charge you for a follow up when doctor requests you to go in to get your results , as well as calling in to get results for a blood test. The full $17. I’ve even been charged extra even though I caught up with what I owe the previous time I was there. The owing of $17 for my covid phone call consultation turned in to $31 when I reached the reception. I did not question it as I have transferred to a different clinic. I was just happy to not see them ever again. At the other clinic, the doctor and nurses take their time to address concerns. Takes their time to listen and can actually deal with a lot of health problems at once. They were shocked that I told them the Avondale health centre doctors liked to use ‘ one problem at a time ‘ — they actually told me that probably that’s how they get the patients to come back and pay more for another issue they had, that could’ve been sorted out all at once. I have a lot of relatives and friends who go to this centre who have all had a similar experience.
