Yum! Yum! Yum! Love this place! Enjoyed everything about it, food, drinks, atmosphere & service.. My daughter treated me for Mother’s Day and it was the Best Experience she could have given me. The food was so fresh and delicious it was like fairies dancing on my tongue, I enjoyed it so much! I’ll definitely be back with hubby next time.
Have been to Zushi a couple of times now and on both occasions, the food was delicious. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is due to the portion sizes, which felt a little small, and some of our party still were a little hungry after the tasting menu. However the quality is fantastic.
Some of the freshest fish I’ve had in Sydney. Upscale laid back atmosphere perfect for date night, business, or just a night out with friends. Flavors are unmatched with creative and original menu as well as a beautiful drink menu. Great service and great vibes!
Zushi is struggling post covid due to a lack of professional hospitality staff. We had a lunch booking for eight people and received the worst possible wait staff experience. Some of our guests waited over an hour for their meals to arrive. The wait staff dumped our food in the middle of the table and ran – assuming we were sharing plates. At no point did any wait staff check back on us or ask if we were alright. We complained about the poor table service and told they were short staffed, that our food orders were mixed up and delivered to the wrong tables by inexperienced staff. Although the manager gave us a discounted bill, this is not the dining experience we expected.
Amazing service from the friendly hospitable staff, and equally delicious Japanese food! A great place for casual upscaled dining with decent pricing for the generous portions. Well-presented food and a great ambiance to match. I would highly recommend the karaage chicken as a starter, and the teriyaki duck as a main. Would love to come back or go to their Barangaroo venue to try more.
I am one of your happy customers. I have been here a few times before. This time, I was looking for a Japanese place open for dinner from 5 pm near the movie Palace Verona. And luckily I found out Zushi Surry Hills was open from 5 pm. So I booked a table for a group of 5. Our movie start time was 6:30 so we didn't have much time for dining but the Zushi team did such an efficient service. We enjoyed all the delicious foods and a bottle from their good selection of wines in 1 hour! Thank you so much. I am coming back again for sure :
Went to try the new Omakase dinner in Zushi with Chef Han, a young and talented sushi chef that will blow your mind and palate. We had an amazing dinner with oysters wagyu, sashimi and many more dishes. Chef Han explained all of them and was really nice with us! Special mention to the Wagyu that was simply amazing plus all the sashimi that were one better than the other one! Will definitely come back.
I love getting tasting menus as I always find the dishes I like the most are the ones I would never order. At zushi the corn was one of those dishes I would never order but loved. The sashimi, wagyu and mushroom dishes were also standouts.Food: 4/5
Zushi is one of those hip restaurants in Surry Hills pretty much targeted to young adults with money to spend on a Tuesday night. The Hed Kandi-ish background music, warm yellow dimmed LED lights, attentive and super friendly servers matches the chic package of this vibrant Japanese resto. Menu is pretty straightforward with no fusion-fancy trickery that most restaurant in this corner of Sydney usually serves. I can give it 5 stars however their neighbour restaurant Suzuya is hard to beat when it comes to bang for your buck.
We went here for my wife’s birthday and had a treat. Good food, great service and we had a nice time. Sashimi was delicious. Fresh and some melt in your mouth moments. Honey prawns were perfectly cooked batter amazing and sauce combo perfect. Gyoza we’re ok. Nothing wrong. But pretty standard. Karage - moist chicken. Good sauce but the batter was on the more crunch end of things rather than that light fluffy crispy batter you might have had elsewhere. Teriyaki duck was the true highlight. Moist and succulent. Wish it had more teriyaki sauce though. All in all a place I’d highly recommend.
