I had very high hopes for my trip to Zumbo. I was semi-pleased with my adventure. The sweet look absolutely amazing, and, given that we eat with our eyes, this is definitely a win. All desserts items look fabulous. The cakes and macarons are so beautifully presented. I wasn't blown away but the flavours but that may have been because the choice that I made. The fruit mince pie was amazing, but the vanilla slice wasn't that great. I'm sure it's all very complicated and the staff member I spoke to told that it was in MasterChef and everything. I suppose it just wasn't my thing. It was ok. The fruit mince pie was way better.
It's a buy and take away store. No seating area and none of those ridiculously cool things we saw on Netflix's Zumbos. If you're looking for those awesome creations you saw on TV, I didn't see them in the store... Macroons were sweet and very fragile and crumply. Ordered the Coffee + 2 Macroons as that seemed like a good deal. Mango Pastry looks nice but was too sweet for any of us.
Zumbo is one of the best patisseries you can find in Sydney. They sell pretty and delicious looking cakes always nicely presented in their glass displays. A new addition to their Collection is the strawberry & yuzu cream cheesecake which is yummy if you like both flavours combined. Their signature cakes are their V8 series which consists of 8 layers. All the little cakes are quite small and can easily be finished in 3 spoon fulls not a dessert to be shared. Each miniature size dessert and cake size is quite expensive to buy, so not something you would buy regularly. In terms of creativity their behind many other top and new patisseries, there is just too much competition and talent in Sydney. Tip: if go after 5pm, you can pick pastries at half price excludes cakes and macarons.
Amazing macarons and great selection of cakes including a couple of gluten free options. Everything is almost too pretty to eat... almost!
Awesome pastry shop! Services are great. You can taste every single layer of the croissant here. And the chocolate brownie is good as well.
Came from the states and was told to go here. Macaroons were incredible.
I've tried the croissant and coffee deal for $6 tipical Italian breakfast 'cappuccino e brioche' and I've enjoyed. The croissant is not too sweet and the cappuccino was good - both for just a reasonable price. All other cakes, macaroons and pastries look amazing so I'll give a try in future!
The pie taste nice but 2 stars because they sold it cold and I had to reheat it in a microwave
I'm a sweet tooth, so couldn't resist during the V8 month. I managed to tried all 8 flavours of V8! Favourite was the coffee and vanilla one : But they were all yum! Can't wait to try the new cakes coming out.
Great, creative desserts colourful and flavourful that are expensive but not as bad as I expected when I heard about the place. Quite the selection of macarons, but we had a passionfruit mango mousse cake and a berry mousse cake. Both tasted like the fruit was fresh and were quite flavourful.
