Great pastry shop I visited today. Went looking for a pie and tried the basic plain beef pie. This pie was good, the pastry was buttery but a bit too flaky for my liking. Staff were great and service was very good.
As a lover of tarts, I was so excited to get the opportunity to enjoy some of the offerings at Zest Pastries. There are quite a few choices, but being a custard tart fan and loving any sort of berry, I was happy to go with the mixed berry custard tart. There was plenty of room to stay and enjoy our selection accompanied by a coffee, we also went for a couple of baked custard tarts to go. The staff are very friendly and there is certainly a wide selection of goods. The shop has a great feel, as a lot of locals are greeted by the first name as they come in. It is a little different and well worth a visit.
If I could give 6 stars I would. Likely one of the top 3 bakeries I’ve ever been too. Everything is just fantastic. Today I had a sausage roll with light, crispy, buttery pastry and a delicious herby sausage filling. I also bought an almond croissant that was like caramel. It’s hard to explain the chewy, fluffy, crunchy delicious experience but uhhh just wow. The atmosphere and service is just right and if I lived in Stanthorpe I’d be blowing half my pay cheque every week here. Amazing.
Wow, I’m not sure where to start. The coffee is really good, feel free to bring your keep cup if you want, they accept them. Pastries are really good, very naughty but tasty. Bread is also really nice, specially the olive and sun dried tomatoes Turkish, make sure you come early or order it for the next day. Pies are very delicious, I rarely eat pies as they are usually basics but those one are worth the try. I had the wagyu beef one, pastry and beef feeling were really good. Same, you’ll have to come early to have more choice. They also advertise a bakery and pastry course. I haven’t done any of it but it could be an interesting experience.
Nice cafe that produces a variety of pastries, sandwiches and other baked goods. There are a variety of sweet pastries and tarts available, as well as a selection of beef cheek pies that are very delicious. The pastry on the pies is done perfectly. I also had the opportunity to try one of their brownie sliced which was also very tasty. It was also not too sweet. The layout of the cafe is nice and airy with both ample indoor seating as well as some tables out the front of the cafe. Prices are around $5+ for anything pastry related and about your regular $4-$7 for coffees and other drinks.
Great vegetarian selection lots of meat too. Salads were great as well as the fritters and quiche. Staff very friendly
Just rode into town and found this bakery for breakfast. Great coffee but has nothing on the quality of the food. One of the riders with us is an ex baker and he was very impressed by the quality. One brekky role, and two danishes later..... If you're in Stanthorpe you must drop in here. You won't be disappointed.
What a great bakery to have in our little town, the pies are amazing the choices are huge! Definitely repeat customers for us! Not sure why so many 1 star reviews about staff being rude because we had nothing but good experience so far and we are coming here 2-3 times per week which is a 40km round trip for us. I only need to mention Zest and my wife is in the car like Speedy Gonzales waiting to go : Our favourites are the lamb pies but of course they are all delicious. When my customers come to town from Brisbane to service their motorcycles I always recommend to them to check out Zest and their pies selections while waiting on their service. They all love it, and to this date I'm yet to hear someone complaining about anything so guys keep up the good work! ;
Great pie lamb & Rosemary. Coffee good. Service good at the counter however the server said they would bring my coffee to the table. Sadly the barista stood at the counter screaming for 5 minutes before I realized she was addressing me I was outside at a street table.
Beautiful pastries and very good coffee too. We went there twice coz we could not get enough of their pastries. We will drop by at Zest if we are in Stanthorpe again.
