Story

Adelaide's oldest Mexican restaurant, at the northern end of Melbourne Street, ranks among the most charming of Adelaide's' restaurants. The old favourites of Tacos, Enchiladas and Nachos are now complimented with Old West favourites to suit all tastes. We also have steaks, seafood and vegetarian - offering something for everybody, including children.

The hacienda building is divided into three areas, fully carpeted with straw ceilings giving an intimate feel to that special dinner for two, while allowing space for the family get together for that special birthday, or engagement celebration. Party bookings are welcomed and individual billing is available.

Great little Mexican restaurant with a lovely ambience and nice warm atmosphere. Had the best nachos I've ever tasted, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. The service here needs some work though - as some of the other reviewers have pointed out, the owner who ushers you to your table comes off a little abrupt, and the tables for couples are quite small with barely enough room for two plates and drinks. We were constantly interrupted by different waitresses who were rushing us to take our plates away before we'd even finished.
Service and food are great here. I have been here a few times and have liked the food a lot. A very good choice of items to pick from and meals are big size. You won't go home hungry at all. Always has plenty of room for you to come in and enjoy dinner.

Delicious food, made in traditional Mexican style, great selection of Mexican beers and Agave spirits at very reasonable prices. Some of the best prepared dishes I've had, the kitchen takes time to really put work into the seasoning and spices in each serve. Wait staff was friendly and helpful and the service was fast and thorough. Overall amazing experience. I ordered the Fish Taco special and its not to be missed, I've had more than a few and this one tops any I've had so far. I also ordered a bloody maria ask for it spicy and the sticky peanut chicken skewers. 5 out of 5, would recommend. Much better than Montezuma down the road.
Meal was fantastic but like others said, service could use some work to be a little more friendly. Tables are a tad too small to dine in comfortably.
Cute little restaurant. I went for dinner here with a few friends. The service was nice, very casual. The food was nothing special, we felt it could have used a bit more flavor and portions could have been a bit bigger. I ordered the fajitas where I was kinda able to make my own little tacos but only got 3 small tortillas. I wasn’t even able to finish off the chicken with those tortillas so just ate the chicken on its own. For the price of the dish, I felt I could have at least gotten a few more tortillas. Customer service was good though, if you’re not too picky then I’m sure this place would be enjoyable for some. Just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Seems like a well established family restaurant. Told by the waiter the menu hasn't changed in years. Has all your basic Mexican meals. If you're looking for an easy, no fuss Mexican then this is the place for you. They were very accommodating for our vegan friends who love to eat here.Food: 3/5
Cute mexican restaurant. The vibrant decor and customer service was on point. She provided us with suggestions and offered us insights on the popular dishes. The food was unique to our taste buds. The mashed foul beans were my favourite and the rice was filled with flavour. It was really good
If I could give this place 0 stars then I would. We ordered the supreme nachos for $22, the crab sticks come with just 2 for $15.50 and another dish that cost us almost $25. It was not worth the money at all. You can tell that a majority of the food has been frozen for awhile or come straight out a can. The beef meat on the nachos, tasted like they were the coles pulled beef packets. The chefs obviously don’t have much passion for the food that they make and the owners should try harder. If Gordon Ramsay came into your restaurant. I highly doubt that he would enjoy the food even the slightest bit. I am not a chef but I can 100% make much better Mexican food than this.
Cosy and comfortable, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it felt very relaxed and welcoming. However, service was completely average. Server looked like he'd rather be anywhere else and missed part of our order, so we were left pretty disappointed. Also found the margaritas to be ridiculously weak. Food is ok, but nothing special. Great prices though!
