Zambrero Rockhampton CBD

We went in today with my family and it was the worst service we’ve had at a Zambrero. He had absolutely no consideration for any dietary requirements. Both my mum and sister have dairy allergies and asked for vegan cheese. He would pick up the normal cheese and then keep the same gloves on and start picking up the vegan cheese and was getting the normal cheese in the vegan cheese which could cause people to get sick. He would also fish his hands around the meat and then fish around in the vegetables immediately after and get all the juices in there. He didn’t change gloves the whole time we were there until we specifically requested it. The meat also looked disgusting. All of it just looked like slop. The chicken was like a brown green colour. And there were flies hanging around the meats and they kept getting left uncovered. The meat has never been like this at any other Zambrero we have visited. We had to explain our order to him multiple times before he actually understood what we were talking about and ended up completely burning our food before we gave up.

Although this is not a reflection of the business or its workers in the entirety. Be warned there are employees there who knowingly engage in deceptive business practices for financial gain

Zambrero is our go to preference when we need to do take away. Our daughter has a slightly off menu favourite meal and the staff are always accommodating.

Food has always been great here. Great vegan option with the spiced cauliflower. Uber eats and food delivery companies similar are creating issues for places like this as man power can't keep up with walk-in customers simultaneously, especially at lunchtime rush hour. Still recommend highly.

Definitely the best value Mexican food in town, eaten here plenty of times and its always great. The staff are quick and helpful and the price is great.

The food is not so good, the stuff is not friendly, the place is not very clean, not the best tacos

The food was blan! The staff spend more time on phone orders, than the 10 couples in line....

Just visiting Rocky Zam, young girl was very good food was great however we were going to get nacho’s after our Burrito, the young lady told us that they were closed at 7pm when the shop is opened til 8pm, so we had to leave an hour before closing time. Was very surprised. Disappointed.

I always love dropping into Zambrero in Rockhampton. It is the only real take-away joint in the main section of the CBD. If you are in town, and want good quality take away it is seriously the best non cafe on east street.
