We always stop here for the hot chips, which are excellent. No other reason, just the hot chips when we change drivers. It's a tradition. And it makes the journey seem to go faster when you have hot chips at Waiouru to look forward to.

Z waioru looked great snow on the mountains, a tour bus arrived and it looked busy, friendly staff and diesel was $2.51 a litre so I filled tank, toilets near by, coffee and snacks available, stop there you won't be disappointed
I am a Truck Driver. I stopped at Z waiouru on 10 November 2022. We had really bad customer service. Guy at the counter didnt know how to deal with the customer and started arguing.
What a rude young girl behind the counter! Being a business person myself if she was one of my staff members she would have been fired for the way she spoke to a customer. I nicely brought to her attention the state of the toilets there was no one else in the shop They have a sign on the back of the door asking if the toilets are not up to standards to please bring it to their attention. She firstly argued with me saying they were cleaned only 10 mins ago! I said honestly they are in a terrible state no toilet paper, water all over the floor and bins over flowing! She then smartly said “well we have been very busy you know” I reminded her it was not professional to speak to customers like that. Do your boss a favor young girl and resign you obviously don’t enjoy your job, with your attitude you are doing damage to your bosses business
I wish manager reads this, you really need to train your staff. extremely bad service, bought a vegetarian pie where the name was written pepper mushroom pie but that was chicken pie. when asked the staff about their mistake instead of accepting the lady gets furious and way too rude saying that was not her fault. I have worked at gas station too and I know what customer service duties mean. If you are wrong then accept it.
The largest multi fuel stop in sunny Waiouru This Z has a great selection of baking including a large number of pies from mince and cheese to gourmet steak, with onions, mushrooms and cheese. This fuel stop has great shelter from rain and sleet.
Clean and awesome friendly service.
Always clean, my go to stop for fuel on my way down highway 1. Cabinet food is always good from any Z petrol station. Love their Spinach and Feta Sausage Rolls, better than the competition.
