Yoshi Jones was an absolute treasure to climb up into. The artfully decorated staircase beckons the daring and boy are you in for a delight . There is so much to be appreciated in the Authentic Japanese product and redesigned clothing. From the sight, to the touch, to the craftsmanship, to the stories... each piece is an experience. I'm so in love with my new Kimono and I've been told by many I'm not the only one. Thank you for the experience Yoshi! You're beautiful store is certainly the most precious jewel on the crown of King Street
Yoshi Jones' store is a delight to my senses. As I mount the stairs to this Newtown oasis I'm enticed and soothed by an exotic and refreshing but non-sneeze-inducing! perfume, and the hustle and bustle of King Street is left behind. Cosy, glowing, beautifully-arranged and inviting are just a few adjectives for this store. Yoshi herself is gorgeous in every way and she chooses her staff extraordinarily well. I always feel welcomed here. Always changing and evolving, Yoshi's range of clothes and homewares offers exciting additions to my wardrobe and my home. She and her staff are helpful with suggestions, honest but tactful about customer concerns such as 'does my bum look big in this?' and are happy to workshop different combinations or ways of wearing outfits. I've been a customer of the Newtown Yoshi Jones store for about twenty years and will continue to be for at least the next twenty!
I was happy to re-discover Yoshi Jones in their current location on King St - when they had moved from their original location years ago I lost track of them for a number of years. When I found them again in their upstairs location, I was reminded about the quality and great colours / patterns in their fabrics and the beautiful clothing. They offer a great collection of clothing and other items for the home, and their staff are friendly and very helpful.
You really have to try the clothes on to realise how well made they are. They are so flattering to wear and I must admit I was rather pleased when I saw my friend while wearing a new Yoshi Jones dress and she exclaimed in a rather impressed way that "you look like an artist"! The clothes are the opposite of mundane. They are what is hard to get these days - locally made and well made. I wish I discovered this brand sooner!
A treasure trove, there is so much to look around at Yoshi Jones. From fun Kimonos, dresses and accessories, there are also lots of interior products to add that perfect charm to your interiors. A fun store, definitely recommended for someone looking for something unique.
You'll walk past it if you don't know where to look. These guys sell traditional kimono in a range of beautiful fabrics. Additionally, they have high-quality 'everyday' pieces like skirts and shirts made from Japanese fabrics and sewing patterns.
I love Yoshi Jone's dress made from vintage Kimono! It's one of a kind special piece and really high quality. All shop staff are friendly and very helpful.
A marvellous shop full of beautiful fabrics, interesting and flattering cuts, and excellent customer service. I have been shopping here for years and many of the things I have bought here have become absolute staples.
One of my favourite shops in Newtown. I always go there to buy my special friends a gift.
