I have visited and joined this YMCA from time to time over the years I've lived in the Centenary area.nI have mostly joined classes in winter when my other activities are less due to the cold dry weather.nThese days perhaps the summer is rather hot for those outdoor activities but it's great to know the gym is well air-conditioned so now attending in summer is fine too!nnThis YMCA is a real community hub with lots of folk of various ages, including kids, attending for classes, gym and other activities.nnI  really enjoy that it is not too pretentious and 'showy'!! A more down to earth environment to get on with things rather than 'pose it up', I'll say!nnThe facilities are always kept clean and there are showers and hair-dryers etc.  Cold drinks and icecreams for sale.  Plenty of off street parking.nnThere is good respect for environment everyone's hygiene ensured by the practices instilled in members. A really vital part as there are also older folk and some with health concerns.nnI am in great admiration of the Cancer Survivor Program that runs at this venue. It serves to support people going through or post cancer treatment.nI recently learnt it was established by a lady involved with this Jamboree Heights business and it has been implemented in many other venues since. Wow!!  what a brilliant and heartfelt initiative. Incredible non judgemental support for people so much in need of these activities and connections. Ten out of Ten!!

I have been a full time member of the Y-West since 1991. I have had an excellent, professional relationship with most of the staff over the years. The communication has been very good as well. In the last eight years since I took early retirement from work, I have been trying to attend every day and enjoyed every minute of it.

Free play toddler gymnastics is great fun.

After four years of continuous enrollment at YMCA Jamberoo Heights, my daughter’s progression through the gymnastics program has been notably slow. Starting from step 2, she has only advanced to step 5, where she has been stagnant for over a year. Despite this prolonged period, the instructors have not successfully addressed her weak points, nor have they provided a clear strategy for improvement.nnThe lack of progress has not only been frustrating for our family but has also led to a significant decrease in my daughter’s confidence and enthusiasm for the sport. It appears that the center’s focus may be more on financial gain rather than the developmental needs and well-being of the children.nnThis experience has been disheartening, and it seems that the flourishing process, which should be a time of growth and encouragement, is being overshadowed by a lack of personalized attention and care.

Kids do gymnastics here. Have been coming for years. Very happy so far. Don’t like the new website for bookings but staff are always happy to help if any issues.
