This hotel was worth the price. Staffs were great, easy check-in process they offered all the guests various daily activities, make sure you join it cause it is free, they also provided luggage room, in case your room wasn’t ready yet, you can store your luggage in there by your self. Room was convenient, clean, tidy, and quiet. They have laundry room and working room, canteen is provided as well. Not to mention the location, superb. It was located nearby the central station and Sydney light rail, it was super cool. Definitely will recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
we had a good stay here overall just a few areas that could be improved. the main issue was the water pressure in our shower, not sure if it was just our room but having a shower wasn’t even worth it. pool definitely could have been nicer, didn’t really look like the photo but not a huge deal. the breakfast buffet was decent for the price but not anything amazing. but very good distance to trains and easy to get anywhere in the cbd. also excellent opportunities to do activities that the hostel offered and the room was basic but comfortable enough.
My second time staying here as this hostel is amazing. Really good location, 5 minutes from Central Station and tram stop right in front of the hostel. Staff were really friendly and helpful, with 24/7 reception, large communal kitchen/dining area and free luggage storage. I even got a day pass when I checked out so I could still use the place. I requested a bottom bunk in advance and when I checked in and went to my room 5 bed room they had reserved a bottom bunk for me. Thank you! Only negative is the room gets quite warm at night with no air flow, as there was no air con in the room and windows closed. Also, the only shower available on the floor was closed for cleaning for 1 hour from 4pm on Saturday, although nobody actually cleaned the bathroom until 4.50pm.
Top notch hostel. Focused on sustainability. Separate bins everywhere, including for organic waste and a water fountain that has a plastic water bottle count. So clean throughout and the beds are comfy with full curtains on each bunk bed for added privacy. Very big lockers in rooms with ventilation. Excellent wifi and kitchen facilities. The only negatives are that they don’t make up the beds with a bottom sheet due to health and safety rules for house keeping and there’s too much 90’s music played everywhere. Some quiet spaces would be appreciated.
Can’t call yourself a hostel is your charging $700 a week. Absurd pricing and a deterrent for real backpackers to afford to stay, which is such a shame. Also so many old people so hardly a youth hostel either, my room was basically like a sick elderly ward no offence to older folks but makes it an environment where you can’t meet likeminded travellers. Amazing facilities which is why I stayed here when pricing was decent but when you’re charging more a week than a rental in Double bay or Paddington, then that’s where I have a problem. Was nice knowing you YHA whilst you were affordable and for the travellers
