5 stars for customer service! I didn't get the sale's person's name apology, but she was happy to help me as an unexpected walk in today 5 minutes before closing without making me feel I had to rush regardless of buying or not. Thank you!
Store manager was rude when asking questions about pricing, didn't introduce himself, was on his phone and seemed more annoyed we were bothering him from his phone. He then palmed us off to a staff member the second they were finished with a sale, so we had to wait a few probably closer to 5 awkward minutes sitting there while the staff member ignored us due to doing data entry. I ended up looking at my phone for pricing, went across the road to Officeworks instead. Optus seemed genuinely disinterested in discussing outright options or even prepaid, and were only interested in upselling when discussing plan options. Terrible service, especially from the manager, I won't be back. This had been my go to store for phones for over a decade.
One star, and that's too generous! Rude, arrogant, unhelpful staff make this place a bad experience. I won't tar all the staff with this negative brush, for there are exceptions, but have encountered so many who are contemptuously unhelpful, speaking down to the customer with a problem and leaving him/her just as baffled as when he/she went in. They humiliate the customer in front of others, whether intentionally or not, and, if there are customers waiting, call out to assure them that they won't be long attending to them even when the hapless customer they are supposedly attending to is still speaking to them. At least one staff member talks a million words a minute so that it's impossible to understand them anyway!
Absolutely appalling service!! Store manager at Optus Elsternwick was rude & raising her voice at me in front of customers as a new customer. Both times I came in, the manager seemed distracted, disengaged and disinterested in actually helping. Terrible service, especially from the manager, won't be back. Do not use Optus - Terrible service - apart from waiting over an hour to actually get some service.
I went to the shop to upgrade my phone plan. Daniel greeted me and as me to have a seat and he would be with me in a minute. There was an older fellow waiting and Daniel treated him beautifully. Took the time to explain things, and got him sorted. The man was delighted and shook his hand.. I thought if my elderly father was treated like that I would be delighted. Well done son, you truly understand customer service. I was touched and so were the 4 other people there.
Just returned home from visiting Optus Elsternwick.The staff were very welcoming, I was attended to by an extremely professinal assistant named Eva. My reason to need help was because there was confusion from head office concerning my mobile phone bill and Optus Sport Eva was very thorough and hopefully Head Office follow Evas detailed anaysis in next months bill. Thanks Eva. You are a very professinal staff member.Peter Draper. Brighton
Waited only a little while after triage and was dealt with efficiently and with a nice smile even though we weren't going to do business on that day.
Never bother ringing because they'll never put you on the phone with a real person. Worst store in Melbourne. They clearly don't want to work or even try to sell items.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I went to buy new Optus simcard and a plan, the store manager was super careless and busy chatting with a friend. The girl ported my number and said sim needs to be replaced. It will change in 24hrs, promising I will have internet access on the current sim and I checked few times to make sure I will not loose connection in 24 hours if she can request a change for later date but she assured i will not loose my connection but the connection stopped in 10 minutes and lost my data n connection ASAP, it compromised my work badly, went to complain but no one seems to care or attend my request. The girl was still trying to explain and then the manager jumped in "the most rude guy ever" started telling a girl not to accept her mistake and not to explain or apologize, " said it is what it is and nothing can be changed" I was talking nicely with the girl but manager decided to be rude and I left store without resolution. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS FRANCHISE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET HUMILATED.
I’ve had to go to this Optus store a few times, and every time has been similarly terrible. I quite like Optus in general, but this store is the pitts.
