My first introduction to Melbourne sand belt golf and I can see why it is so highly touted. A real challenge with some seriously tough pin positions on quick greens, very challenging bunkers due to very little sand at the base and greens ringed by bunkers. Great facilities, clubhouse and layout.

Got access to Yarra Yarra GC yesterday courtesy Yarra Yarra and On Course Golf.nnTurning into the driveway, the manicured grass, hedges and gardens beds shamed many golf course fairways - definitely shames my front yard!!nnFor starters we had great weather!  But had it been hot, I noticed numerous water fountains around the course.nnLooking at the memorabilia in the club house awesome hallway of history seems the course has had 100s of trees removed over the last 20 years presumably making it 'easier' to maintain and play? But don't be deceived.nnYes, a poor shot does still lend itself to you 'enjoying' the great course conditions, if not from the wrong fairway as recovery shots are often available.  However, be aware - there are many many strategically placed bunkers and the greens....that's a new sentence!nnThe greens are pure.  The pro shop suggested go to the practice green first not the nets!nnWell, what looked like rather 'flat' greens are in fact ------ HARD!nnThey are fast and very very true. The cups are cut fresh, and lip outs are frequent!   My playing partner Dan Cousins off plus 2 and 2024 winner of the Club Champ at The National indicated Yarra Yarra greens are as good, if not the best on the sand belt.  Note - he drove the green on the first hole! Finished with 71 off the stick, I had 102 - I very much appreciated his patience - LOL.nnFinally - the staff in the Pro Shop and the food/beverage area - super friendly and super helpful.  A most welcoming environment.nnWould love to return but suspect the chances of this weekend hacker who drives a 1994 Ford Wagon getting back on - well - not high lol.  Thank you for the opportunity.  I had a wonderful day.

A fantastic golf experience. The staff are very friendly and abuse a great from the club rooms. The course is improving and being opened up. The greens are played in a putt on.

Attended a function in the club house. Service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.nWent to another's function.nFood and service were excellent.nWhat a great venue!

haven't been here but my mate is a member and he says its great. he says he gets to play with footballers sometimes. must be nice. can't wait to hit the links in daylight savings after 4pm during the week one day.
