Food was delicious, reasonable prices, nice view from the Balcony of The Shamrock Hotel and friendly staff.
Overall a quite disappointing meal. I had the beef brisket which lacked flavour and was riddled with fat, quite unpleasant to eat. The accompanying chips were not crisp and not seasoned. I had fond memories of this place from several years ago with their amazing food. Clearly a lot has changed in the intervening years. I’d recommend looking elsewhere to eat.
Really disappointed with the service we received here. We asked if we could have all the food bought out at once which they agreed too but there ended up being an hour between our first and last meal coming out. The food was average at best and for the price we paid $26 per meal they were tiny portions, a little salad on the side never hurt just to round up a meal. The live music was alright but it was so loud for such a small space we couldn't hear each other talk. Also it was a colder night and we asked for the fans to be turned off four times before anything was done about it. The over all experience was a bad for our whole party and I probably won't go back.
All good here, but I thought it was the Shamrock. Initially they were slow to take our order, others being served first pet hate . But to be fair, they fitted us in. Enjoyed the food and wine.
Was really good. We really enjoyed lunch there. We suggested it our parents and they also loved it when they were in town.
Food was overpriced and ordinary Sorry less than ordinary Service was patchy and the only upside was a good selection of local wines but you had to go downstairs to get them Disappointing in the extreme
Wouldn’t waste your money eating at Yardbird. The only positive is the location. The food was very ordinary and service extremely inadequate to the point that the staff “Cody” was bragging about being able to park in the multi story car park at no expense and at the disadvantage of hotel guests….
i hate to be leaving a bad review but this experience was so disappointing. we had a table for 18 people booked at yard bird on a friday night for our work christmas break up. the table was booked over a week in advance with confirmation that it had been booked via facebook messaging. all 18 of us turned up just to be told they didn’t have our table in their books and had no room for us. we stood there looking stupid, it was incredibly embarrassing. we’ve since messaged them asking what happened to our reservation only for them to not reply to us. we had to scramble to find somewhere last minute to fit 18 of us, which luckily we did otherwise our break up would have been ruined.
Very disappointed. I was waiting 15 minutes for someone to serve me. I got ignored everyone else waiting had been served but yet they found time to have a chat to each other. My friend and I ended up leaving and going else where to eat. I won't be back.
Just save yourself some time and money and go to GPO next door, its overpriced and the food and service is terrible. The menu is severely downsided due to covid, that much is understandable, but I will never be returning to get a dinner here again. The service was incredibly poor, it took multiple attempts to get the bartender to give us all 4 sodas we ordered, which is sad enough, but our entrees were served after our main meal, so we had some way too cheesy garlic bread for desert. The food was honestly awful, I personally had the chicken schnitzel. The chicken was dry, the chips were tasteless, and the salad would have looked more presentable if they had bought a bag of salad from the Coles two minutes down the road. The gravy could also have easily been used as a replacement for Clag glue. And to top off the evening, we had bought our own cake and asked that the staff please keep the lid for said cake behind the counter so we could take the rest of the cake home. Not only did we ask for the lid about 3 times, and were told they were getting someone onto it, after about 45 minutes my mother and I went up to the counter to ask for the lid back please, its not hard, and both us and other customers witnessed them pull said lid out of the trash, rinse it, and start to dry it and hand it back to us. In the middle of a pandemic? Really? The staff, while being nice, seemed like they were all on their first shift and had no idea what they were doing. I'm honestly so sorry for these staff and all the other businesses who decided to go there for our Christmas breakups, it was so sad and not at all comparable to what they were like last year. Get some hospitality training, they do that at TAFE for free down at La Trobe, take a course or two, it's only three minutes walk away.
