Retro little Fish and chip shop with Beatles memorabilia trickling the walls and decor. They do not grill fish but was pleasantly surprised to learn they have Gluten Free batter not only as an option for their fish but potato scallops. In running with the bristish theme, chippy vinegar is a free option on the tables. The serving sizes are large and good value.
Amazing fish and chips!! We got the Deluxe pack with battered Barramundi and they did not disappoint Chips were extra crunchy as with everything else The vibe of the place was on point and the service from ordering to bring your food put was fantastic The staff were extra friendly and accommodating as we had our 1yr old baby with us as well When you're at the beach and you crave for fish n chips this place offers exactly what you want If you're craving fish and chips it's definitely worth the drive Plenty of tables and chairs outside or you can go find a chilled spot along the water as there are plenty of tables and chairs Lastly best in-house tartaric sauce we've ever had too Enjoy
Store has a cute 60s/Beatles theme with music playing complete with Beatles' song references in the menu. Beatles themed takeaway tables. But sadly, the food took about 25 minutes to arrive even though we were there at what you would expect to be quiet 11:30am. We ordered the $42 seafood basket. Food was average and quite bland, and the texture of the tartar sauce was a bit chunky yet tasteless. Enough chips to keep most people happy, but again, very average n taste. All quite battered and oily. Close to Redcliffe Pier, which almost makes up for it.
My wife and I ordered a Beatles pack with an extra order of calamari. They had plenty of seating right outside but we went to the pier nearby to enjoy the food and view. The food was great and they gave plenty of lemon as well. Utensils were available including extra salt or pepper packets if you desired. My wife really like the mushy peas, but I didn't mind nor care for them. The crumbed Hoki and calamari were massive and delicious. We have a bad habit of forgetting to take pictures before eating the food so the scallop isn't in the picture. Delicious though. Great food, great view!
Found ourselves in Redcliffe at dinner time and felt like some good old fish’n chips. So glad we walked past Yabbey Road. Loved the pommy theme, music, food, service, location and price. Best fish I’ve had this year we had cod and hoki … and the chips … I couldn’t stop eating the chips ... so good!!! Thanks Yabbey Road … we will be back!
One of the most unique fish and chips shops I have ever eaten at. Yabbey Road caught my attention initially due to its name with a large poster of the Beatles out the front of its shop but then quickly realised how absolutely packed it is with the line needing its own dedicated crowd control signs. The fish and chips itself were fantastic with awesome ambiance with the Beatles greatest hits playing in the background. You'll need this awesome ambiance because the wait for the food is looooooooong. I suspect this is not only due to the sheer amount of people there but also the quality control measures they put in place when battering/crumbling their seafood which was impeccable. They have a unique masshed peas which they serve with their fish and chips which I have been assured is a UK thing. Prices for the food were ok - a little bit on the expensive side but for the freshness of the seafood you get and quality of the batter and crumbling - it's worth it. Highly recommend a visit here, just don't come when you are super hungry as there is a substantial wait.
Was recommended here because they are ment to be British fish and chips, have to say I feel so cheated, the only thing close to British style is the tinned mushy peas. I went here because I wanted chips that were British style and not frozen, I placed a telephone order and when I got there to pick them up I asked the girl who was serving are they fresh chips and she said yes they are fresh frozen, I said British chips are not frozen and are made fresh, she said I have a friend who works in a chip shop in Birmingham and they are all made like this in England now and they haven't got time to make them fresh, I laughed and said no they are not at all made like that and she said yes they are, I actually couldn't believe I was having this conversation as I only left England 2 weeks ago and my last meal was fish and chips. To stand there and argue with a customer is bad enough but an English guy who loves British chips, she needs retraining, $62 down and a bad experience, thanks yabby road
It's in good location by the water, but can be difficult to get a carpark. The food was what can only be described as oily and tasteless. Not the best fish and chips I've ever had but certainly not the worst. Around $22 for a piece of battered barramundi, minimum chips and three potato scallops. Gets an extra star for giving five potato scallops when I ordered three, but when they weren't particularly nice and I didn't eat them it doesn't really count. I'm not sure if they were having an off day or not, given how good the reviews are, so perhaps I'll try again some time.
Still one of the best fish and chips and mushy peas you can find in brissy. Always busy which is a good indication of its quality and value for $
The tables were cluttered with finished food. We had to ask them to clean up a table before we sat down. The Aussie cashier was amazing she did the register and cleaned the tables. There were 3 staff members having a feed not one got up to help her. Food was okay a bit greasy. Pickup your act guys you are busy with people and you ignore them.
