Went on a weekday evening around 8pm and there were plenty of tables available. Served by a pleasant waiter who was friendly and efficient. Had fish and chips which was to a very good standard. Prices were mid range but appropriate to the quality of the food.
We took my Mother In Law here on a quiet Sunday, arriving about 1PM. There was plenty of space and we were able to get a quiet table in the side alley seating area. We all ordered pasta, and each dish was very tasty. It seems to all be hand made pasta, and the sauces were well executed. The staff were very friendly and patient. However, I consider that they could do with a bit of training in the areas of table cleaning and follow up. That said, they contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. We'll come again.
Service is amazing. There are two people, I believe Michelle and Curtis who are always up for a conversation and who make you feel welcome in there. Food is tasty, I had the gluten free cheese and garlic bread. Being a coeliac, they took the time to make sure that I could enjoy some delicious liver pate. For mains, I had the seafood linguini and the gluten free pasta is the best to die for. The chocolate cake was tasty, and was gluten free. When I went to the counter, Curtis explained to me that the cheesecake wasn't suitable, but I really was fixated on the chocolate cake. I 100% recommend anyone who is living in Dalkeith to pop on over to the cafe and sample some amazing food !!
I wanted to like this place, the reviews were good the decor was lovely but the food was well below average. The only thing that surprised me about this place was how expensive it was, leaves you wondering how the justify it. We ordered pancakes and scrambled eggs with fetta, whilst the coffee was good, the extremely dry & lacklustre pancakes literally just syrup and a few dry cakes combined with the "sad" looking scrambled egg and cheese mess, left me feeling like I had well and truly wasted my money. Please do yourself a favour and walk the extra 15meters to the next cafe.
Poor value for money For $12.50 you get 2 sad poached eggs on 2 thin sliced pieces of bread on a huge plate. Eggs are not even runny. Just because you're in an affluent area does not mean you can deliver poor quality food for this price. Edit: my second egg was runny, aplogies Juice was great however
We came here for a function and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Ive also been for breakfast and enjoyed it greatly. It's nice to have table service for breakfast.
Service is always nice, but I often find the coffee tepid when it arrives. I don't recommend getting the Bircher muesli, mine was dry and they were really stingy with the fruit.
I've eaten here many times and enjoyed the food. Sitting at the tables near the register the noise was unbearable and conversation impossible. The service was ordinary without Michelle. I had to leave.
Visited with a group on a Tuesday night and it was quiet but not empty. Great layout, delicious coffee and the fig jam pizza was amazing!
Poor value of money, the food not that good, last time went there, saw the lady who made coffee there was really rude to a uber driver. Really bad !!
