Konichiwa and welcome to Y14, a new Japanese kitchen and bar situated in Melbourne’s beachside suburb of Sandringham. For bookings call 03 9598 4765.

Story

Y14 serves modern dishes that combine Japanese technique with Australian produce by Chef Tatsuya Yamazaki.

Eat-in or takeaway sushi and our signature Donburi ‘rice bowl dish’ consisting of fish, meat, vegetables and more, simmered together and served over freshly steamed rice.

Came for dinner for the first time and everything was so good! We did the all you can eat menu which was amazing value which a great range of options to choose from. It all seems homemade too rather than frozen inc. the dumplings. Everything was delicious and high quality even sashimi, especially the green tea ice cream. I would definitely recommend this restaurant in Sandringham it was very good!
This place should hands down have 5 stars overall!nnWe were looking for dinner and stopped here because the vibe inside looked very cool and the food looked delicious - and we were not disappointed!nnWe had the Tofu and the Grilled Miso Salmon Donburi, as well as edamame. Next time we’d definitely get any of the sushi and sashimi as it looked incredibly good. You can sit at the bar and watch the staff making sushi and platters, all looks very fresh!
Stumped upon this cute Japanese restaurant in Sandringham, and I'm glad I did.nnThe food was overall super fresh and tasty, I definitely recommend the mixed sushi roll plate, the Japanese pancakes and the soba sallad. Yummy! The vibe was lovely too, every table was taken outside and busy indoors too so had a good vibe too itnnThe only fallbacks I'd call out is that everything is done via QR code which loses the personal touch and service, especially when it's not a fast food, cheaper option I want a bit more service. The second thing was the beer, 300ml for I think almost $14 and it wasn't even filled up properly nnEven though, I will return!
Had an awesome dinner at this cosy and friendly local restaurant.nnEvery dish was fresh and tasty. Fish was excellent. Chicken dishes were very tasty.nnHad fried chicken, sashimi, inside out rolls, gyoza and calamari.nnFun to watch the sushi made at the seating near the counter.nnEarly sitting catered to younger families and was great.nnHighly recommeded.
